Incase anyone hasn't already reserved their copy of the DVD set and don't know where to find them, I have got the solution. I'm not sure about smaller stores, but when I was looking for the prices at Best Buy and Circuit City, it cost 70 or 80 bucks. Just today, I went to the mall and at Sam Goody, it only cost $50 when you reserve it.

When it hits some stores it might cost about $40 only.

Not a huge Star Wars guy, so forgive me for this, but is this the original trilogy, or the re-released, re-edited editions?

They're going to be the re-re-edited versions because he's making even more changes.

If I were you jbailey, I would hold off and preorder from Amazon, because what if you buy one in Texas, bring it back home, and find out it doesn't work. Now if you don't live too far from Texas then I suppose it wouldn't be a huge deal, but if you live as far away as I do (WI) you'd be royally screwed and you'd have to make a bunch of emails and phone calls....
or he could just take it to walmart, say it was a birthday present and that he doesnt have a receipt for it.

Not if he opened it.
it'll still work. all he has to do is say the dvd's dont play or work or something.
my brother opened and used a dvd player, and then brought it back w/ out a reciet and they accepted it.

Yeah that's true I suppose. I don't know if that's a risk he's willing to take though.

A DVD player is completely different than a DVD - you can't burn a DVD player. If a DVD is opened, they will only exchange it for another of the exact same thing.

well i live in Germany (air force/military) so if i DO buy it in Texas and somehow it doesnt work, the BX (Base Exchange) can refund it with or without a reciept, open or unopened.

Oh, well, then I guess it's not a huge deal.
