I am aware that this is a silly horror film, but I really enjoy it. It's interesting how Tarantino and Rodriguez combined their styles to produce this picture. The beginning of the film is VERY Tarantino with the Liquor store and Motel scenes. Then once we get to the Tity Twister it is all badass Robert Rodriguez style with Salma Hayek's sexy dance and the crotch gun, etc.

Loved the movie, bought it on DVD about 2 months ago and apparently it's really hard to find in the UK now..... I just did a search on one of the top UK retailer sites and they're charging £28 for it............ I bought it along with 4 other DVDs for £30

I picked it up on a whim one of these days and just loved it.

It's half of a Tarantino movie, and then abruptly in the middle it turns into Evil Dead II, which is great, since the only thing I like more than Tarantino movies are cult movies.

Clooney was funny, both Juliette Lewis and Salma Hayek are hot :D although Salma doesn't last very long :( and Tarantino was great (I laughed so hard I had to stop the movie when he got stabbed in the hand).

Yeah, that's what all these people complain about but that's the idea. You're supposed to be taken as off-guard as the characters.

And you did read the synopsis. You should already know it's a vampire movie...

yeah if I just started watching this movie and not knowing what it is, i wouldn't expect it to have vampires

What I liked:

The entire first half was great.
All the dialogue of the whole movie was awesome...
The cinematography in the first half was excellent.
Acting was lovely.
How it's like a normal QT movie and then all of a sudden there are vampires all over the place... bizarre and very cool.

What I didn’t like:

Nothing really from the first half.

What I didn't like about the second half was how the vampires looked... it just looked really fake and cheezy to me.

And another thing I didn't like was how the one guy turned into a giant rat. What the hell? Maybe I'm not up on my vampire mythology or something.

And when the two of them jumped out of the place there was like a giant fiery explosion that made no sense at all.


I give it an 8/10

My friend told me this was a vampire movie and I didn't know anything about it so I kept calling him an idiot. Then out of nowhere Selma Hayek stopd dancing and bites the guy. This movie was glorious. The guy with a gun for a penis is my God. I frikken love that guy. The only downside was SH didn't get naked. Still Quentin Taratino kicked ass for the short while he was there and over all it was a kickass movie.

I think the second half is more of a Robert Rodriguez movie. Salma Hayek, the crotch gun, the other insane weapons used towards the end, the Mexican actors, and Cheech playing three characters.

From Dusk Till Dawn is a QT/Rodriguez movie. The first half is QT and the second half is Rodriguez. I think they did a good job combining their styles.

My favorite scene is when Cheech looks at the camera and says "f--k it!"
