Haute Tension although this movie is a french but it is the best horror move ever i think IMO go check it out at i have just bought it ,and the worst thing is that i don't understand french well and i was enjoying this creepy disturbing movie and i am going to buy the american version when it comes out in 2005 hopefully.
Check this movie and you'll see what i am talking about and many horror sites gave it very good reviews and talked about it alot .

I briefly read about it in a recent movie review for SAW. They said that SAW was better, but I am actually interested in this film now. Can you give me some basic plot information if you can? 2005 is too long for me wait to see what the hype is all about.

Haute is one very well made horror film... but SAW is better. In Haute, there aren't many gorey scenes but when they do come about... they'll make you squirm in your seat.

SAW uses gore to its advantage as well but it has a far superior storyline and better twists in its story... or should I say, stories. ;)

Synopsis for Haute Tension:

Marie is a young student who goes to Alex' parents house, in the countryside. Isolated from everything, Marie, Alex and her family are going to spend in their remote farm for the week-end.
In the middle of the night comes a mysterious truck. A repairman gets out of the vehicle and he's decided to brutally kill everybody. For Marie, begins a fight for survival. She's going to try to save Alex and her family from this bizarre serial killer.

Looks like classic horror material to me...will probably work out nice for us scare-fans..

By the way...My contribution to this thread is the asian movie Ring (Japan, 1998) - quite original and has gotten several copycats lately, some really good, some bad..of course.

I thought that New Nightmare was a Rather Clever Movie as well as Mouth of Madness, and of course Prince of Lies.
