Hey I was wondering in which order should I read tolkiens books that would help me understand it better I mean as far as book like the book of lost tales and unfinished tales.....I have already read LOTR trilogy so I sorta messed up the order already lol..

i'd say read the hobbit, as that will make sense of some things in LOTR. then silmarillion, then HOME, then letters of Tolkien

I find the rule with book series is to read them in published order. Reading in chronolgical order can often give away stuff that is going to happen. (Certainly if you read Asimov's Foundation series in chronological order it does).

Yes, i would have read it in this order:

Hobbit
Appendecies (sp????) (in LOTR)
Silmarillion
HOME
Unfinished tales
Letters from tolkien (never read any of them though.....)

Tales from the Perrilous Realms...a book containing 4 short workings by J.R.R. Tolkien, which includes the Adventures of Tom Bombadil and Leaf by Niggle.
