Hey all, sorry if this has been asked, I don't get in here too much.....
Is there any talk of a single LOTR movie on DVD, without cutting?
Just curious.... Thanks.

Don't believe so.
Although there is talk of reediting the films so that they seem even more like one big film.
Fran Walsh and Phillipa Boyens wanted to do a chronological version of the films and put everything in order.

That'd be really really cool(the chronological cut, that is).

Say, like, the scene with Boromir/Faramir/Denethor at Osgiliath would be somewhere in FOTR. The entire movie running in the order they happened in time. So yes, no flashbacks.

I wont buy this if it did come out, i can live with just getting all my movies and switching the discs in between each movie.

I'd rent, because the entire idea of it is very interesting. It'd be worth a look. I'm quite happy with my TC & EE's of each film(when I get the EE of ROTK in November, of course) ;)

when HD-DVD's come out and the HD-DVD versions of LOTR comes out
there will most defenetly be a custom made LOTR version to download, a bootleg of course
but its what your asking for

it will defenetly happen
forgot to state that for Two Towers
some guy realesed a purist edition without any elves at helms deep and faramir with the ring and osgiliath,
so yeah 99.99% chance this will happen

its real
"Anyone familiar with the fan made 'Phantom Edit' version of Star Wars Episode One? Well, some dude has made a doctored version of TTT that improves (from the purist's point of view) upon Peter Jackson's cut. It removes 40 mins of Elves at Helm's Deep, Evil Faramirs, Retarded Ents etc."

how could I get a hold of this "purists edit?"

Purist edit sounds terrible, worse than having the changes which I didn't think is bad. I would rather have changes then 15 minute chunks of the movie just randomly disappearing.

Exactly, but then you know what some of the raving purists are like. Many would rather have a poor film that was 'faithful' to the book (with regard changes more specifically than cuts), than a good film.
