This is set in Scotland(or Ireland, well it had funny accents). Training in a forest, a commando squad encounter werewolf entities and fend them off with their dear lives.

I watched this a while back, and it happened to cross my mind recently so I thought it would be threadworthy. Theres some memorable stuff in there, such as the commander's guts, which spill out, but here in is the difference: his reaction is very different than what you would expect when one of his mates tries shoving them back in, he yells "it won't fit!"

Then theres the end, very memorable, as a couple of werewolves finally get into their cabin, courtesy of a out of no where plot twist. Theres a frantic cat and mouse chase through the house, while in the kitchen another soldier stands his ground and spits "hope I give you the shi-s as-hole!"

Think Predator, Evil Dead and Night of the Living Dead all rolled into one, and then some...

I love this movie, I bought it on DVD straight away. The squaddies are great and it's one of the funniest horror movies I've ever seen.
The bit where his teammates try to put his guts back in is funny and tragic at the same time.
Another bit that got me was when they were supergluing him back up and he told one of them to knock him out. He hits him in the face and then he belts back up again saying "I said hit me you pus$y!"

Great movie, lots of gore and funny story/characters...

Looks pretty old school to me and is surely a must-see.

I rented this movie a few months ago. It was a rather intersting flick. Decent gore lvl and some fun elements to it. For a werewolf movie it was worth watching.

Though set in Scotland, much of the film was shot in Luxembourg.
Though some of it was apparently shot in Scotland. And look at the werewolves. Don't they look better then the werewolves in "Van Helsing?" They do to me. Enjoy the film.

One of the worst looking werewolves I've seen is the werewofl in Harry Potter and the Prisoner Of Azkaban. It looked pretty bad. The ones in Van Helsing though were REALLY good, extremely detailed. I've been wanting to see this for awhile but never got to it.

The werewolves in Dog Soldiers are awesome, they're the best I've seen. They don't look particularly strong but theyre huge gangly legs make them very very creepy looking.

In Van Helsing I thought the werewolves themselves sucked, but the transformation was top class.

Anyone looking to see this film, beware thereŽs an unrated version which of course is the one to get your hands on. A little more gore for you to enjoy....
