Ya, ummmm..... i couldn't find any thread about this movie o the site, so vuala, i started one. I'm not necessarily excited by this movie, not liking Ridley Scott's last very cornish and overdone and underaccurate Gladiator, but it at least seems worth posting about. What i do hope however, is that if this movie turns out to be the traditional actionpacked/brainless movie (a la Gladiator), that it will NOT get nominated for Best Pic. This movie is getting released in May, not a very likely season for winners to be released, so i'm thinking maybe this is more action adventurish like Troy-except hopefully, tonnnnns better-so it wont get nominated for best pic, which it probably wont deserve (Gladiator, Gladiator). Yah well, although i AM expecting a very hollywood film (how much more typical and hollywood can a title like Kingdom of Heaven get?) hopefully it will be a good hollywood film, maybe better than Gladiator. Oh and i encourage anyone who did NOT, i repeat, did NOT like Gladiator to open a thread about it because i dont want everyone bombarding me about it like....before

How on Earth anyone could consider Gladiator an action-packed movie is beyond me.

Anyway, This is the wrong forum in which to start this thread, and there is already a thread for this movie in the coming soon movies forum under the title 'Ridley Scott's crusade movie' or something of the sort.

There is no action in Gladiator?? Funny remember that war in the beginning, the two or three matches in Rome, one in a neigboring area, and the fight between Maximus and Ceaser, and the fighting when Proximo released him. You are right other then that, not too much action.

I said the movie wasn't action-packed, not that it didn't have any action in it.

Plus the dude who started the thread acts as though a film being action-packed is inherently a bad thing. I hold that it isn't.

I find Gladiator to be a rather boring film and calling it action packed doesn't exactly fit in with that idea.
