Hi all,
This posting is about B2k's movie "You Got Served" and I just want to get people's views on this.
As far as I know this movie has been available in the U.S. on DVD for quite some time now and it hasn't even been released here in Australian cinemas (I'm an Aussie), it's actually set to be released later this year in October, why is this so????? I know some movies are released earlier in the U.S. than Australia but this is ridiculous.
I've seen trailers for this movie (on comingsoon.net) a long time ago and waited in anticipation for it to be released here in Australia and to find out it's now available on DVD in the U.S. and won't be released here until October I have resorted to buying a region 1 copy of it off eBay.
I haven't heard of such a big delay for a movie release in regards to U.S. release and Australian release in the past? has anyone???
does "You Got Served" take the cake?
Cheers,
Andy

I'm still waiting for Hal Hartley's "No Such Thing" which was released in the States back in 2001. (Living in Australia sucks sometimes).

Yes! I do actually want to watch it; I am a big fan of the hip hop genre and break dancing as well, which is probably the only reason why I want to watch it. I guess "You Got Served" has a very limited audience, as Scott Chitwood mentions in his DVD review on comingsoon.net, "This movie is not for general audiences. It is for dance fans, hip hop fans...". I rest my case.
But the main reason why I posted my initial posting was not to discuss the movie but to discuss why the lengthy delay of release dates of movies in general, I was using "You Got Served" as a fine example. Surely the movie not doing so well in the U.S. is not the only reason why it is delayed for an Australian release.
Cheers,
Andy

Then get on Ebay and buy the freakin DVD...
Or rent it from Netflix if Aussie has the option.
Maybe it won't get released there? Some US production companies choose not to do that if they don't see that there's any point in wasting their time and funds. *shrugs

This film is the biggest $hit ive seen in the last decade. I think its better you never speak of it again. It was painful to watch these hippity hop losers act
It works the other way occassionally.
Ju-on: The Grudge is available in any dvd rental store in australia. Americans only just got the trailer.
