View Full Version : The real Jason Voorhees
Hey all.I thought I'd fill yall in on something about your favorite horror flick.
Well,I live in Florida and it is true....Jason Voorhees was real.He never was a killer, but a young boy who did drown in a Lake nearby at one of our local camps.I forgot the location and am not sure if the Camp is called Crystal Lake, but he does have a marker near the condemned camp, but with nothing in the tomb.I do know the camp is located in our country-side and no...not all of Florida is a tropical paradise.
Anyway, supposedly Jason had fallen out of his canoe when the counselors weren't paying any attention and sadly, the boy drowned. This made the mother so depressed, and their father already in a mental hospital, that she killed her daughter and then took her own life. When the father heard of this...he killed himself as well. Now,I haven't seen any newspapers on this, but this is what my sister's fiancee told me....who has been to the condemned camp and sat beside the marker that says "Jason Voorhees."The marker is surrounded by an iron fencing...if I remember correctly. But the police never found Jason's body and it is long decomposed.
But,if any of yall have heard of a different version please give it.This is purely what I heard from talking with my sister's fiancee and friends at highschool.Hope this cought some interest.

Yeah no joke like Texas Chainsaw Massacre is based on Ed Gein pretty much, or the idea was brought off of his killings. But I don't doubt this story, it could happen.

Well I guess, how much will kicking my ass cost? Can I bring a friend? When you say long time, how long are we talking here? I have never had a Vietnamese whore kick my ass before so I just want to get all the facts straight before I go into a situation like this.

Sounds like just another urban myth to me. If I had a name of the kid who drowned or the camp where he supposedly died... then it'd be an easy matter of finding some story relating to it on the net.

Whats spooky is that about 30 mins from here is lake called Crystal Lake. It was this big lake that someone turned into a mini water park 20 years ago. It shut down about 5 years ago. Several people did drown including a kid named Jason. Not Vorhees though. I just remember being 10 and my brothers scaring the piss out of me on the way up there by saying that Jason would be coming for me. I miss Crystal Lake. Too bad they closed :(

 No offense, but I'm a bit skeptical. I'm a Friday the 13th fanatic. I've never heard Victor Miller(writer of F13th) mention he got his inspiration from this. As far as I know, Miller loosley based F13th on his over-protective mother. That was the inspiration for F13th. Now I'm not saying you're wrong, you may be right, I'm just skepitcal.

Actually that's not true. Ed Gein has little to do with LeatherFace and the Sawyers/Hewitts. Want an accurate picture of Gein? Alfred Hitchcocker's Psycho. The relationship Gein had with his momma's exactly the same.

This story is probably true but it didn't inspire the Friday the 13th movies, like spiderman_2k said it happens in every town...

Gein also wore peoples skin and had lamp shades and other things made out of human skin and bones.
That is why it is the basis for TCM.
Gein had been known to wear human faces over his and run around his yard howling at the moon. Kinda like Leatherface. He never used a chainsaw or anything but you get the point.

I know that Leatherface and Sawyers/Hewitts didn't do everything that Gein did, but I've always heard stories that TCM is based off SOME of Ed Gein's things he did. Also this would explain why on the new TCM dvd coming out why there is a special featurette on Ed Gein on it.
