The packaging is very unimaginative. It seems almost like they do this on purpose.

Yes I like the idea of using the original poster art, but I don't like the way it's been done on the box. It seems too simplistic. I'd prefer a more detailed picture thats had a bit more effort put into it.

Actually, it is starting to grow on me, but I still can't bring myself to like the Vader helmet.

I have 2 questions, are these dvds that are coming out in SEPT. the ORIGANALS, the Special Edition, or is it a completly different edition?? and if there is a trailer for EPISODE III, will it be on the 4th disc? Or is there a 4th disc in this collection?

Lucasfilm has said they're the Special Editions.
The Episode III thing is supposed to be similar to the Episode II feature they put on the last VHS versions.

I like the Vader on the box. Old school Raplh McQuarrie art.

Ahh crap. That thing sucked. I got all excited for the episode II feature and all it showed was 2 minutes of the tatooine set

Slightly changed in my reference means that there will be updated technology used, so the blades might resemble the ones from the prequels . . .

The digitalbits.com is reporting they WILL be indeed new cuts of the movies with newly added and polished special effects.

Lets hope they clean up the motion control key boxes from around the ships and that huge black blob from the emporer's cloak hood in Jedi.

I take it the only way to get a copy of the "Original Cuts" of the Trilogy will be Asian Bootleg DVD's from e-bay.

Anyone have any of these? I'm curious to hear how the quality of those are if anyone has them.

Fox have today issued a new press release concerning the upcoming Star Wars trilogy. It is now clear that the four disc set will arrive in the UK one day prior to the US release on 21st September, and two days ahead of the Australian region four release on 22nd September.

According to DVD Answers this Region 2 Artwork has a darker logo and the characters are more defined

Eh, a a day later than the US is the same day here in Australia because we're ahead of them so we get it at the same time anyway.

Besides, I know the people where I buy my DVDs from and I always get them anywhere from 2-5 days early.

but to me 29 is still young depending on how you live and treat life. :) i just feel old cause i've been living life way too fast, need a looooooooooooong vacation.
