Ginger Snaps Back (Ginger Snaps III)

This has been mentioned in the other Ginger Snaps threads, but since nothing much was said about it other than it was filmed back to back with the 2nd movie, and those threads were specifically started about Part 2, I thought I'd post what I've found out about the 3rd movie. I don't know if Ginger Snaps Back is the official title.

I stumbled across it on imdb.com while checking out the cast to the Insomnia remake with Robin Williams. Emily Perkins (Brigitte in Ginger Snaps) was billed as "Girl at Funeral".

Description:
Brigitte and Ginger aren’t in Bailey Downs anymore. The Fitzgerald sisters find themselves in a place more bleak and depressing than the suburbs-- 19th century Canada. On the run, Brigitte and Ginger find refuge in a small traders’ fort on the edge of the known New World. Sheltered by a ragtag group of near insane explorers and traders, the girls’ sanctuary turns out to be a confine of terror when they discover the fort is under siege by savage werewolves. An enigmatic Indian hunter may be the girls’ only hope against the beastly onslaught outside the door, but that’s not the worst of it- one of the girls has been bitten by a werewolf. Brigitte and Ginger may finally have no one to turn to but themselves in the cold, dark prairie wilds.


From what I understand, this is sort of a reimagining of the first movie. They're the same characters, sort of, but it's supposed to have little to do with the first 2 movies. That's what I gathered off of the discussion at imdb, but I'm not sure where that info came from. I didn't find it anywhere on the site.

Anyway, anyone have anymore news on this? I liked the 1st one but haven't seen the 2nd yet.

Last I read this was going straight to video...

This is a prequel as far as I know.
I know it's the same actresses but they are not playing the same characters.
It's like Tremors 4, it's an old west prequel with the ancestors of the original characters.

I believe the wolf in this film is the one that Bites Isabelle's Character in Ginger Snaps 1 or a close desendent.

What I meant by the same characters is they have the same names and are sisters, at least from what I've read. I'm only reporting what other people have said. I got most of the info off of the discussion on imdb. Where'd you get your info, sniktawt? It's not on the official site, as far as I can see. (please note, I realize this reads as sort of a "put up or shut up", "accusatory" question, but it's not meant that way)

I seen promos and stuff on The Space Channel.This is a canadian film and I am Canadian so There's more info on this movie floating around here than there would be anywhere else.

It may be all speculation so don't hold me to it.

Ah, cool. I think I like the retelling idea better, though it sort of rubbed me the wrong way at first when they did a similar thing with Evil Dead 2. I don't really like the idea of the same actors playing their ancestors and whatnot. That always bugged me about Lea Thompson's characters in BTTF.

But, since I loved GS1, I'll be sure to check the 2nd two films out.

Ginger Snaps 2 comes out April 13th on dvd, while the prequel is assumed to come out sometime in November.
