OK maybe not, but it seems like all the zombie websites hope for it. They would all love to see one. I would too personally.
Check this site (http://www.homepageofthedead.com) for details.

I agree 100%. Romero needs to make is fourth Dead film. When that happens I will be very happy.

Romero should take Glitter, make a remake with zombies taking over, and thus giving us two things to look forward to...
1) a WATCHABLE Glitter movie
2) another zombie flick

Once this is done there will 2 sets of Trilogys...It doesnt really matter if they remake or "reminagine" it, if you dont like it, you dont have to ever watch it.

its just the fact that im a huge horror fan and i would love to see a new horror flick in theaters, other than the teeny crap that comes out, its just all remakes, its a very sad time for movies if they all have to go twords remakes

Well I have already seen the remake of NOTLD, I am seeing the remake of Dawn this weekend, I wuold see a remake of Day as well. Remakes of older movies give film makers a chance to show what the film could have been if they had the money and equipment that film makers today have.
Nothing wrong with that. I would love to own an original Dead trilogy on DVD and also have the remake trilogy on DVD as well.
I do however want to see the fourth movie he had planned, and he is getting old so he might want to go ahead and do the fourth movie and the remake of Day (like they did with LOTR) at the same time so we can see both of those.

think of it this way.if day is remade, then romero might have enough money to make a big budget dead film and that would be perfection.if you dont like the idea then dont see it

There's going to be remakes popping up everywhere... once Dawn makes a respectable amount of cash at the B.O. .. they'll remake Day :( and about everyother popular horror film from the 70's and 80's.

That's already happening, sadly yet interestingly. Talks for Pet Cemetary and Fright Night, The Hills Have Eyes has begin preproduction, Salem's Lot is getting it's 100th reimaginationing for tv ... I'm sure there's more to list.

Well they might as well make a Day of the Dead remake since they already have Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead remade. I personally didn't like the idea of Dawn being remade but I'm going to see it anyway just to see if its anything like the old one, but I HIGHLY doubt it.

It will be interesting to see how they do the truck scene with these new faster and stronger zombies.
One thing that just doesn't fit with these remakes is that it appears NOTLD is being ignored in the remake of Dawn. The original Dawn already had the zombies everywhere because it was an actual sequel to Night, but it appears that this one doesn't. In that sense, I don't think we could really say if they remade Day then we'd have a new trilogy to go with our old trilogy. I could be wrong. Maybe they are taking Night into account, we just haven't seen anything about it.
spiderman_2k

They are not taking Night Into Account.
But you could still consider it a remake trilogy.

I think the remake is more like the first 2 in one. as far as what happens and reactions of people and such.. Not that they can really be compared, but if you did. The new dawn would be like the first 2 put in one movie.
I am wondering if they would make day if they would actually have anyone back as it is eluded to them all dying in the end credits of the remake,
ZombieMan
03-18-2004, 05:46 PM
Personally I hope that this one would start with zombies everywhere, thats the only best way to do it. That was what kicked ass about the original.

The new dawn will be NOTHING like the original. Except for the zombies and the mall.

SpunkObuffy

A little bit of the same feeling, but not as much for me because there's more than just four people trying to survive. A closeness amongst the characters won't be as evident as it will be in the original, but I'm still over excited for the movie.

A few people have commented that they did a remake of Night of the living dead?? I have not seen the remake, but if you are talking about the original touched up with a few extra scenes and in colour, then I have seen this and I wouldn't classify it as a remake, just as someones ego getting in the way of a classic film and ruining it with mainly pathetic additions.
I would like to see a real remake of this movie, possibly explaining exactly why the dead begin to rise or if the reason behind them rising is meant to be a mystery then showing where it all starts.
Juxton
03-19-2004, 09:51 PM
Yes, there was a remake. It came out in 1990, I think. It's very similar to the original, but has some character changes and a few other things. It is definitely a remake, not a re-release of the original with things changed/added.

Whhhaaa?
Back in 1998 they did a 30th Anniversary edition of the DVD of NOTLD and added some new scenes and made it less grainy.
The remake made in 1991, (Directed by Tom Savini) is a remake all new cast, ending, everything...I dont know what you are talking about...

My bad i have the 30th Anniversary edition on DVD, never knew they made a remake, It never made it out to Australia as far as I know, which is probably a good indication on its quality, though having not seen it I guess I best hold my judgement. If anyone can enlighten me on the 1991 remake I would be most appreciative.

Well...It's screenplay was written by Romero and it was directed by Tom Savini (Gore Effects Master from Dawn and Day)
Its basically the same characters, a few of them are slightly different, Barabara for one is a lot tougher in the remake.
The end is very different too.

I really like the Night remake. I don't know how well it was accepted when it came out, though. I wasn't a fan then.
I just got back from the Dawn remake a little while ago. I really liked it, as well.

I, for one, would love to see a Day of the Dead remake. If you are a diehard Romero fan you would know that due to budget constraints he had to butcher the script to make it work with the specific budget, changing a damn lot of the story. If a remake was made and Romero's original script was used it would kick ass. For all of you crazy fanboys that don't want to see the remake get made, stop *****ing because you may end up getting a better movie then before.
The original Day of the Dead script can be found here:
Day of the Dead original script (http://www.un-official.com/The_Daily_Script/dayofthedead.html)
And for those of you doubting Romero's new movie Diamond Dead, don't listen to the hearsay. Read the script of that and judge for yourself.
