Have you seen Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers? If yes, then go see ROTK. If not, then you really have to watch those two first or ROTK will make no sense.

Ok, thanks guys. I have seen the Two Towers and Fellowship of the rings. I saw Two towers first then had to go back and see FOTR (ha I used it again). Anyway, anybody here not seen the movie? I would like to go with someone who hasn't seen it yet, my boyfriend has seen it 3 or 4 times, and wants me to go with him, but I think he would ruin the movie for me. Is there anything I should look for that he might ruin?

Oh, and oscars mean nothing to mean. Titanic won 11 oscars and that movie sucked. I cried at the end, not because the guy died, but because the old ***** throw the diamond into the water.

Erm.Yeah.If you've watched the first two movies you should know that in every movie there is a twist here and there. And there are twists in the last one as well. Please go and watch it,even if you have to watch it alone.I watched the second time alone, and it did not decrease the amount of satisfaction i recieved in the end.It was still as awesome as ever.Anyway, how about your friends and your family? No one?

Just tell your boyfriend not to tell you anything in advance and not to talk during the movie unless you ask him a question :)
PsYkOoOoO
03-19-2004, 11:44 AM
Oh,and if you liked the first two movies you wouldnt have asked the question in the first place. If you liked it then of course it is worth you time. You didnt like it that much huh.

I think my problem is I watched the second one first and then I watched the first one, so I think I might be lost. I liked the second one. I didn't really like the first one. And none of my friends want to see it, so I will probably just go see it with Scott and hope he shuts his mouth. I can always offer him some favors if he keeps his mouth shut.

Maybe you could rent FOTR and TTT and watch them in order to freshen up on it. It'll make more sense that way.

Take hope, Code Red . . . FOTR definitely grows on you . . . at first I liked TTT more, but now that I have seen both again I realize just how amazing the first one is . . . in fact, if I had to put them in order, I would say 3-1-2 . . . of course they are all amazing movies!

Ok, I finally went an watched the movie. Great movie until the last hour when there was just a bunch of standing around and talking. The two weddings were really brief and didn't really do much for me, and I usually love weddings.
The fighting was great. My boyfriend ruined most of it by talking during the best fighting scenes, saying thing like "watch this" and "Here comes a good part". Oh well he wasted a good night of oral satisfication for that.

Oh, I realised it was such a thread the moment I saw Code Red's name at the top. We encountered him/her before remember, during the middle of last year. I believe he/she is from a place on the net called OOTPB. (out of the park baseball?)

1. What is the point of the big spider? Why does it try to kill the little guy?
2. Why does the little guy (frodo right) not destroy the ring when he is supposed to? Wasn't that the point of the whole movie?
3. Why is everyone fighting in the first place? I watched the first 2 movies and didn't know that?
4. Can't the wizard just kill them all with his magic?

1.Shelob represents a barrier the Hobbits had to go through,an obstacle. It wanted to kill the Hobbits for a very obvious reason:Food.Tastier than orcs.
2.When Frodo stood over the cliff and prepares to throw the ring into the Crack of Doom, the Ring called out to him once more. You can actually hear the seductive voice coming from the Ring. The ultimate weapon of the Ring is actually temptation. So Frodo didnt want to destroy it.After all,it was his "precious".Every owner of the Ring will be bound to the ring itself mentally.Frodo's obsession of the ring can be seen on Bilbo as well as Gollum, who were the previous owners of the Ring.
3.Because the bad guys are here and they have to fight?Cant let them take over the world can they?
4.Well,Gandalf's most powerful weapon is not his staff, but his wisdom.According to Peter Jackson,he disliked the idea of Wizards having extremely out-of-this-world powers like the ones you see in the ROTK game.Shooting purple laser beams out of the staff,or perhaps during enemies into toads. His wisdom is a power itself. To give advices and stuff.Gandalf's presence also gives the soldiers of Gondor courage to fight the enemies.Like what he said before,"Courage is your best defence."He was sent back from the dead to aid Middle Earth, not fight the war for them. Also, wont the battle be a little boring if Gandalf kills everyone?

But so much easier. He does that one thing with the lights in the sky, couldn't he do something else that would blind all the bad guys. And also why are the bad guys there. If the ring calls out to frodo, what is going to keep the ring from calling out to a bad guy that retrieves it. I am so confused.
Yeah Ok

If Gandalf does that trick then it wouldnt be fun anymore if the enemies get destroyed so quickly.:)
Minas Tirith is the centre of the kingdom of Men.If that is destroyed, all others will begin to fall.Just like a capital of a country. If that place falls then all others will eventually fall. The other reason is that,Sauron saw Pippin in the Palantir, and he assumed that he was the ring bearer.Since they were heading for Minas Tirith Sauron sent the army to get the ring back.
The ring belonged to Sauron,so instead of creating a form of temptation on him,it gives him power like what you saw in the beginning of FOTR.

She's an obstacle in the sense that it is a fear the hobbits had to overcome. Its a mental obstacle.

No one has bad taste, or bad opinions.....unless they think the Lord of the Rings movies were bad..
Necross: The inevitable battle brings with it inevitable doom. We will fight and die for this city and its people. There is no hope of victory, but I will still fight. Will you follow me?
Clash: I have followed you since the beginning even though, I didn't know what your intentions were. I now see your life is made up of nothing but wise choices. I will die by your side Necross.
Cassia: As will I! My people would prefer to perish in battle than run and hide for the rest of their existence.
Mizit: Ha! I have done nothing but run and hide for the short years that I have lived, but no longer! My magic is yours Necross!
Zia: ...I have just found my reason for living, I have been willing to die all this time but it was no more than an elaborate suicide attempt. Now I will fall for those I love!
Necross: I thank you with all my soul....my friends...I.........I...I will continue this later....I must talk with my sister...
