Not bad. :)
Would that be the approaching shot of Minas Tirith, moments before the coronation? Or the shot leaving Minas Tirith as it fades into the map of middle earth?

i think it is the approaching shot..

Yeah its before the corination, for some odd reason i thought it'd be a killer pic for the DVD.

It is seeing as Minas Tirith is like the center piece, that part when Gandalf rides over the hill and we see it. Just breathtaking.

It would make an awesome teaser poster also.

Kinda off topic, but it involves teaser posters. I entered a contest for a chance to win all of them. I haven't heard anything yet. I was just wondering if anyone else heard about it. I already have the Aragorn teaser and the Legolas and Gimli one, but I want them all.

Would that be the contest NL was doing?

Bah I don't even know, I kinda stumbled upon it, but I think it wasn't them. Some tv or radio website something like that. Could be wrong though. I am supposed to get something whether I win or lose so I guess I should just be patient.

I think it's an awesome cover for the novel, but the DVD cover, IMO, needs to have more involvement with the characters.

change the font of the Criterion Collection to the offical one...you can crop it from one of my covers if you like:
FotR Criterion (http://upload.houseboat-racing.biz/files/LotR%20Criterion%20cover.jpg)
RotK Criterion (http://upload.houseboat-racing.biz/files/RotK%20Criterion.jpg)
edit: ok, these link are not working...

Good poster. But why does it have to be part a Criterion Collection.

Exactly my thoughts. Doesn't really feel like a DVD cover to me.

Very nice. But really it's just a still from the movie with some writing above and below it. Not very imaginative, wouldn't make me want to rent it if I'd never heard of it before (not that that would be the case for anybody). Nicely done though.

Yes, it's a lovely shot of Minas Tirith but it looks too 'stuffy', if you'll beg my pardon. ;) The LOTR Motion Picture Trilogy we know of has been marketed to appear 'cool' to the younger generation. I don't think your proposed DVD cover would entice too many kids. :p However, I happen to like it. :)

Criterions are the pinnacle of of DVD editions...plus, their covers are always SO much nicer than the studio covers, much simpler and neater...no floating heads (à la TTT)
