When X-Men & Spider-Man came out, it sparked something off which led to a whole string of Marvel comic adaptations. Also with the release of Lord of the Rings, there's now a taste for epics, hence The Last Samurai, Troy, Alexander and I'm sure a few more to follow.

Does anyone think we're gonna see the same thing once Kong is released? Remakes of classic monster movies? i.e. Godzilla (another one), Gamera, a range of Godzilla's enemies, the blob, Creature from the black Lagoon etc.?

Remakes are all the more common these days and I can see it happening.

Creature form the black lagoon i can imagine seeing again soon. In 3D as well.

Remakes are TOO common, there's less and less creativity today, everythings about a quick buck. But i have got a feeling that peter jackson really does not care that much about making a quick buck, he's just obbssed with king kong, so i'm sure king kong will be good.

I'm convinced Kong is going to be a great movie. Peter Jackson has not made a movie I haven't liked. I'm just worried about the aftermath and what's going to happen to other famous monsters in the wrong hands...
