I Love this film for several reasons...

1. I love a movie where i can cry.
2. It made my dad, who is the biggest Tolkien fan i have ever met, very happy. and
3. It made the audience cheer and clap.

When I saw it, the audience cheered and clapped at the charge of Aragorn and the Army of the dead, Leegy-go-las kickin' the crap out of the Haradrim and the Olpihaunt, when Gimli said "It only counts as one!", when The Witchking Died, when Gimli decalred it okay to go to Mordor, when Arwen came back (I Think) and When Samwise got it on with Rosie (The Wedding) and when the screen was filled with the door of sam and The End. It was a heartfilled evening with fans of both the books and the films. It was amazing as the crowd at TTT was dead. They hardley laughed at Gollum when he was humeorus.

Did you guys have any of this fanfare? Do Tell!

yep, those exact moments, but I didn't go to the first showings which probably had more fanfare

I couldn't cry, my dad doesn't like it. BUT. I like how people cheered and clapped. It's enjoyable when the entire audience is into it. Everyone's cheering, they're whooing, and they're gasping (frodo stung by shelob), and laughing. It's just the greatest. That's why i love seeing a LOTR movie for the first time. Except for FOTR actually, therre was less cheering and clapping going on. There was laughing though, that was good.

People laughed at every opportune moment. Even parts where they shouldn't have laughed. For example, Theoden's last moments with Eowyn, Frodo getting stung, and sam walking into Cirith Ungol.

My dad's favorite part: "That still counts as one!"

My favorite part: Practically every moment onscreen. It hit me harder the second time around that I won't be having this adrenaline rush at around Christmastime next year anymore. It's such a weird and depressing emotion. :waa:
