I'll probably check it out, but it looks to me that this isn't a remake but another "Resident Evil"..

"Who wont go and see it?" is the question that is much easier to count votes...
I sure will...

it looks like a good movie and has a good trailer, unlike house of the dead, so i am thinking about seeing this. i just hope it won't turn out to be a bad movie.

After House of the Dead I really dont know if any of the Zombie films that Hollywood is releasing will be any good but.. I loved the original ( best Zombie Movie ever) so I will go see this one. Then I will wait for Resident Evil 2.

I am going to see it. I dont think it will be as good as the original but then again I could be wrong. Ving Rhames is good and the trailer looks cool. Should be a lot better than that crappy resident evil though. That was a waste of $8 at the theater.

It looks very good, the trailer looked sick

I'm going to be honest. I won't go see it in the cinema. I'm really not interested in anything other then the name and it doesn't seem like the kind of film that requires viewing on a large screen to appreciate. I won't judge it till I've seen it but when I do it will be as a rental.

Does anyone know when Anchor Bay will release the original DAwn of the Dead on DVD? I know it's out already but it's OOP, but I want the version that was released on another country..I dont know wich one.. It has both the George Romero Directors cut and the Dario Argento Cut also. I checked Ebay and they have it but it wont play on my DVD, it's another region. ahh Damn..

The trailer looks good but they always do. I heard there is a seen where there is suppose to be a zombie baby, I don't know how good that is going to be everytime I think of a zombie baby I think of Dead Alive. I don't know if any of you have seen this but I found this screenplay review at film jerk there are some spoilers (if you can call them that) so beware.

I'm going to see it just for comparison to the original. But being one of the dorks who enjoyed the Night of the Living Dead remake, I'll probably enjoy this remake.

www.zombiekeeper.com or www.diabolical-dominion.com recently had something about the DOTD disc set, I forget which one now.
As for the film, I'll probabaly wait for DVD, no sense giving the hacks the money the first time round. Not sure if zombies that run are real zombies, unless they're counting on a newly resurrected specimen to be faster and degrade over time. Even so, a newy resurrected psecimen would be slow to move anyway because of a very crude nervous system, wouldn't it? Just curious.....

I thought this guy was banned?????
WTF?????
It still says banned!!!
He doesn't have 3000 posts so it's not a custom title.

My only fear is that it turns into a Resident Evil rehash...I mean, it shouldn't, but the center of this movie looks reminiscent of where RE 2 will pick up.
Also, it could be a lesser 28 Days Later...

Looks ok, but like someone else said, "I'll probably wait for the DVD". Looking more forward to Resident Evil: Apocalypse.

I wish movie studios would go back to the days of really mediocre effects, like Dawn of the Dead has. I mean they looked great for the 70s and 80s but now all you see is CGI crap. I want some studios to do retro movies with effects from the 70s and 80s, like Dawn of the Deads make up and gore effects. Those are awesome. Very original and looked great. no more CGI! Too bad this remake will be full of it I am sure, I hope not, but we all know it will =(
*Edit*
now that I think about it, QT already did it with Kill Bill and look how great that turned out! Make this the new trend!
spiderman_2k
12-25-2003, 03:39 PM
I dunno, Horror Movies dont generally rely on CGI, the only CGI in Resi was the laser trap and the Licker, Dawn Of The Dead only has Zombies (as far as we know) which require no CGI only great make up.

that is what I thought but one of the behind the scene photos shows a huge green screen. I guess we will find out the hard way though. Either way I am going!

I am TOTALLY looking forward to this movie! Its the movie that I want to see the most all year. The original is my favorite movie of all time! Although on the trailer for the new one, the zombies are running. That looks like it might ruin the movie, seems like rigormortis isn't **** anymore. Come on, give me a break! But I wll still see it.

I'll probably see it in theatres, but the trailer looks pretty lame :o
I have seen no trailer and heard no info about it (but hey, I do live in the UK, movies do just appear without warning), so I only know of this film from seeing it in thread titles, and having seen the 2 posters for it, I think I'm gonna go see it. Oh yeah!

i really hope that review is even 1/2 correct. It sounds like they really tried to make a good "zombie flick"
spiderman_2k
01-21-2004, 02:04 PM
Yeah problem is although they say its confirmed, it still sounds as if the person has watched the trailer and pieced a few things together...
T-1G02
01-24-2004, 02:31 PM
Well Resident Evil was actually a knock-off of Night and the Living and the original Dawn.
spiderman_2k
01-24-2004, 02:32 PM
I think the only real similarity is they both have Zombies in.
T-1G02
01-24-2004, 02:32 PM
With some extra elements in story, but the blow to the brain death was NOLD's.
spiderman_2k
01-24-2004, 02:36 PM
I would think that would just be common sense though...I mean if Zombies really did attack in real life...Destroying the brain would stop them.
T-1G02
01-26-2004, 02:52 PM
Not in Return of the Living Dead. Any zombie where the zombies are walking slow, eat people, and can be killed by the brain, basically knocked it off from George Romero's movies, because he did it first.
spiderman_2k
01-26-2004, 02:55 PM
Yes but you are missing the point, anything can be killed be destorying the brain or severing the head from the body, so that is simple science when it comes to that.

In an earlier post I said I would probably wait for the DVD, but that was after seeing the teaser/short trailer(whatever). Just saw the long trailer, and I think I just had a change of heart, looks worthy to see at the shows.

In fact, I just watched the original a couple days ago.
Cheesy! :)
But the new one should be pretty cool.

Some News about a possible sequel
Clint over at Moviehole has learned that Universal are putting a sequel to next month's Dawn of the Dead on the fast track. They're currently after a writer (James Gunn's not interested). I wonder if all of these positive test screenings are the reason for this surprising news? Here's the real question, will the sequel be called Day of the Dead? Hmmmm, I wonder...

Nice poster, but they made a mistake by putting "Dawn of the Dead" instead of "Evil Dead 4" on it...
I shall await the DVD. :)

Well people might want to see what fan reaction to the movie is and such before they decide to wait for dvd.
you know. just maybe if you stop haveing preset ideas on what the movie will be. you might be able to enjoy it.
