Hi! I know there is a thread about the soundtrack already, but I felt that it needed a new one since the replies now don't match up with the subject posted.

I have written down the words from Into The West here, please feel free to correct me, it does happen that I hear things wrong! =)

Lay down your sweet and weary head
Night is falling, you've come to Jennie's end
Sleep mallow and dream of the ones who came before
They are calling, from across a distant shore
Why do you weep, what are these tears upon your face
Soon you will see, all of your fears will pass away
Safe in my arms, you're only sleepin'

What can you see, on the horizon
Why do the white gulls call
Across the sea, a pale moon rises
The ships have come to carry you home
Though we'll turn to silver glass
A light in the water, all souls pass

Hope fades into the world of night
True shadows falling, out of memory and time
Don't say, we have come now to the end
White shores are calling, you will doubt we'll meet again
And you'll be here in my arms, just sleeping

What can you see, on the horizon
Why do the white gulls call
Across the sea, a pale moon rises
The ships have come to carry you home
Though we'll turn to silver glass
A light in the water, grey ships pass Into The West

Lol, I am sure Jennie's end is sexy and all, but I am quite sure it is supposed to be "journeys end" ;)

Jennie's end? What's wrong with that? There are several characters that are named Jennie in these books? Aren't there? =)

True, the soundtrack is not yet released but some of the tracks are out there on the vast internet

In full, I have heard Minas Tirith, Twilight And Shadow, The End Of All Things and Into The West.

I want to hear The White Tree, Shelob's Lair and The Return of the King, as well as The Black Gates Opens because this track interests me...I am wondering if the whole track will sound as upbeat as the 40-second clip we heard?

Another thing! In the third line of the text I wrote "Sleep mallow and dream.." That does not either make sence! Maybe it should be "Sleep my love and dream.."?

Into The West

Lay down your, sweet and weary head
Night is falling, you have come to journey's end.
Sleep now, and dream of the ones who came before.
They are calling from across the distant shore.

Why do weep?
What are these tears upon your face?
Soon you will see all of your fears will pass away,
Safe in my arms you're only sleeping.

What can you see, on the horizon?
Why do the white gulls call?
Across the sea, a pale moon rises --
The ships have come to carry you home.

Dawn will turn,to silver glass
A light on the water, All souls pass.

Hope fades, into the world of night
through shadows falling, out of memory and time.
Don't say, "We have come now to the end."
White shores are calling, you and I will meet again.

And you'll be here in my arms,
Just sleeping.

What can can you see, on the horizon?
Why do the white gulls call?
Across the sea, a pale moon rises --
The ships have come to carry you home.

And all will turn, to silver glass
A light on the water, Grey ships pass
Into the west.

Now that I've heard the full song, I like it much better.

The 1 minute 49 second version I downloaded I think tells two stories. The first part I think may be the final battle at the Black Gates, because of the intensity and Sauron themes in the music and when it switches to the boy soprano, I think the movie switches over to Frodo at Mt. Doom. Then the music picks back up and all hell breaks loose. That may explain why the Black Gate Opens track is sort of mellow, it's because it's after the Ring has been destroyed, and the Eagles swoop in to save Frodo and Sam. It ties all the story lines together.

I haven't heard EOAT to completion though, so is there a better version of it floating around that I haven't heard?

I've heard all 5 minutes of it! :applaud: It's almost totally a female choral piece (Renee Fleming), therefore I am guessing that the film will focus on the Ring during this music.

You can download the full version from the other ROTK soundtrack thread on the forum below...
