The Chicago White Sox r the best! Most of the Yankees are old and can collapse any second i.e. Mike Mussina's like 36,David Wells like 39,Bernie Williams,Andy pettitte, mariano rivera, jason giambi, aaron boone are well in their 30's :p

Pettitte is 31, Rivera is 33 almost 34, Giambi is 32, Boone is 30. With the exception of Rivera, I wouldn't call them well into their thirties.
Expensive? Yes. Overpaid? Possibly. Great? Of course. Ready to collapse at any second? Don't bet on it.
I'm not a Yankees fan, but give credit where credit is due. Of course I could make a hell of a team with $150M too. The fact is, Steinbrenner is one of the few, if not the only owner in baseball to pay top dollar year after year for a great team. Fortunately for him, the Yankees are marketable enough to make the spending pay off.
Give me $150M+ a year and the Astros organization and watch it get interesting.

The Astros right now are only an upgrade over the Rangers. They win pretty much becuz of hitting...Hidalgo,Berkman,Bagwell,Kent...
They still have sucky pitching except 4 the 2002 Wade Miller and the uninjured Roy Oswalt.:p :p :p

The Astros owner is a jackass for pretty much giving away Billy Wagner to the Philadelphia Phillies for a mediocre Brandon Duckworth who was a prospect but has faded big time.

Drayton is a jackass, granted, but people who don't know baseball look at the Wagner trade as just that, a trade. It really didn't matter who we got, the object was to hand off Billy. Not so much Billy per se, but Billy's $9M paycheck next year. Essentially, he was the highest paid pitcher on our staff and he was a closer. A great closer, but still a closer. Octavio Dotel can do the same thing. Brad Lidge can fill Dotel's setup position. The key is getting some quality starters who can go more than 4 innings.
In order for the Astros to move forward, they need another starter or two to match up with Miller and Oswalt. Duckworth may pan out, but believe me, they aren't betting the farm on it.
Next step, dump Hidalgo and his 8 digit salary. Look out, it's coming. Boy, the fairweather fans will be pissed when another of the 6 names they recognize on the roster is gone. That move, the Wagner dump, and the absence of Jose Vizcaino and Brad Ausmus will open up a lot of cash to make a play for a top starter like Pettitte or Millwood.
If we get two quality starters in the offseason and add that to a healthy Roy O, Wade Miller, Jared Fernandez or Rodrigo Rosario, we're in business.

Brandon Webb is like a Derek Lowe... hes wicked good, although id take out Chris George for say... C.C. Sabathia and mabe get rid of Zach Day because of his horrible second half of the season for Joel Piniero... and maybe even substitute AJ Burnett for a Brett Myers or Johan Santana.
my pretty low costing Starting Rotation and Bullpen:
SP: Mark Buehrle
SP: Brandon Webb
SP: C.C Sabathia
SP: Joel Pineiro
SP: Johan Santana or Brett Myers
RP: Damaso Marte
RP: Rafael Soriano
CP: José Valverde

SP: C.C Sabathia-he might have the lowest ERA he's ever had in 2003 but he finished the season with only 14 wins.He went 17-5 or something like that on his rookie season. What happened?
SP: Joel Pineiro-He slipped a bit for a few games.In 2002,he was 14-7 ERA 3.50
I'll aso add RHP-Runelvys Hernandez(started season 4-0 1.10 ERA) , the promising Doug Waechter,and Jason Jennings.

Mariners have just signed Raul Ibanez... Great addition... Can't wait to see him back in a M's uniform next year... Now we just need to add another good bat and fix Freddy Garcia's problem and we'll be set...

I don't see whats so awesome about Ichiro,Each year he'll probably only get like 12-48-.321(estamate)
Sure he's more amazing than his numbers show but he needs to put up power numbers or else he'll never be a MVP again

Got Ibanez and most likely losing Cameron.

Well, it was time for Cameron to go. He's a great defensive player, and he had some power, he just never found a consistent swing here in Seattle. I wish the guy great luck. An awesome guy...

****. Many stay or Manny go? I want that guy to get the hell out. Eep. It'd be great to have A-Rod, too, but what are you gonna do with two shortstops and no regular left fielder? They can't get rid of Nomah! :(

uhhh you do know that is TOTAL bull**** right? lol thats not even a possible trade... do you actually believe that Alex Rodrigues AND Manny Ramirez could BOTH stay on the Red Sox? I mean come on, the Red Sox couldnt withstand both of there salarys combined IS HUGE MONEY! Peter Gammons was on ESPN and laughed at this rumor... its not even possible.

The only way to do it... is a Alex Rodriguez for Manny Ramirez trade... you cannot just unload Manny. not many teams want him for his contract and salary... its HUGE. The Red Sox even put Manny on waivers and still nobody claimed him.

Either try and trade Nomar for another LF... or even just use either Nomar or Rodriguez at 3B... but i think they would just trade Nomar for a very good LF... thats what ive been hearing here in Boston anyways.
