Hi everyone!! I thought it be great to start a thread in which we all just say why Star Wars is so important to us!! For me, Star Wars is my LIFE! (you remember when Obi-Wan said 'this weapon is your life'? Well I say 'this movie is MY life!!!') I LOVE Star Wars sooooo much!!!!!! My very favorite thing about it is that it is the real deal!! In other movies we see actors playing characters and everything is all fake but in Star wars we see it as it is! You know what's funny? One day i went to a restaurant called Nobu but I told everyone I was going to Naboo and they thought I was nuts! We all laughed! i would rather go to naboo and eat Padme dinner! That would be really cool!!!

so now its your turn. tell why you Star Wars is so important to you and share any great Star wars stories too!

Whoa, I read "I would rather go to Naboo at eat Padme for dinner!" lol, ya, anyways....

I can't really remember how I got into Star Wars. It was middle school, I definetly know that, but all of a sudden my friends and I were obsessed. Being a Star Wars fan can really define who you are - loving it means automatic acceptance into this wierd, multi-faceted social clique, in my experience.

And now I've been dissapointed with the prequels, I don't do the whole extended universe thing, don't have any posters up on my wall, etc, but I guess it still really has a hold on me. And if I ever go to a convention like Dragon*Con you know I'm going as a Star Wars character.

I agree with you about the prequels! You know why they aren't good? Because thats not really obi-wan!! They tell you it's obi-wan but its just some guy acting like him. In the first movie they had the real guy and then he died when Vader hit him. But still I like the prequels okay because they're Star Wars after all!! Anything and everything that is Star Wars is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!

P.S.-- Eating Padme for dinner!! haha!!!! sorry i had a typo there! I would never eat her-- she's so pretty and I'm no canabal! (but i bet she's delicious!!!!)

The prequels suck because GL is a crappy director. Plain and simple.

P.S. I talked to Obiwan, Plucky, and he says he hates you.

This is supposed to be a thread where we talk about how we LOVE Star Wars is!!!!! Don't say Lucas is crappy or anything bad about anything. Just talk how good it is!! how has it made your life better?? what do you enjoy most about it??? how has it changed you?

if you don't love Star Wars then maybe you should look for another site!

I love Star Wars, but no one can argue that GL is a good director. The best SW films (empire, jedi) weren't directed by him. All the actors who work with GL say he's a nightmare to have directing them. All he ever says is "faster, more intense." Prowse said he got so much more out of doing Empire and ROTJ because the directors actually gave him motivation and reasons to do what he was doing, not just.....ok......do that.....but better. Harrison Ford said he hated working under GL. GL is a genius who has lost his way. Sad but true.

Agreed, Kinjo.
Lucas obviously has a gift when it comes to creating a good story, but as you said, he can't direct.
Adding to that, he can't write dialogue and he can't pace a story well. Yes, I still like Star Wars, but I only put up with the prequels because I loved the original three movies. If the prequels existed by themselves, I seriously doubt any of us would care about them. Lucas really should have let someone else handle certain aspects of these movies. He can't do everything, and he should just admit it.

We are fans, but we arent ubsessed. Once again my famous quote: To be a fan does not mean to show you are a fan.
