I have seen this film in theaters and on cable. Today I saw the badly censored version on Bravo, but I still think it's a cool movie. Even if it's the love story version of Stokers novel. What's your opinion on this film.

I liked it , I seen this opening night over 10 years ago, I haven't seen it since but I liked it then.
I found some stuff slow but for the most part it was a decent film.
Excellent cast.
I may have to watch it again.
BTW, You're Right Wynona was Beautiful in that film.

Excellent movie, I just watched it a few nights ago and it was still as good as the first time I watched it. It's one of those movies that I can watch time and time again and never get bored, so to me it's a quality movie to others maybe not the same.

Given the VERY low budget Francis Ford had been given to make this movie and considering how well it turned out, I think of it as one of the best horror movie adaptations I have ever seen brought to the screen. The Picture of Dorian Grey and Interview with the Vampire (First movie, not the silly second) are also great book adaptations.

Dunno why, but I can never watch this whole movie in one sitting, maybe it's my attention span or something. I caught the end of it the other night and it looked good... now I just have to see the middle.

when i first say this film i thought it was going to be bad, but i was pleasantly surprised and it turned out to be a good film. the remake of frankenstein though was awful.

I can't believe it's been nearly 11 years since it's release.
Time flies.

It was a great movie, the only one that really is describing and picturing Vlad Dracula as is it was written by Bram Stocker.
Beautiful opening sequence and very emotional...

Well, not exactly. Bram Stoker's novel wasn't exactly a love story and the opening sequence from this movie never occured in the novel. These little details never really bothered me, so I think it's a great film.

I was talking about how they have pictured Vlad in the movie and about how emotional the sequence was, never said anything about that being in the book...

I absolutely freeking hated this MOVIE.
I was a HUGE Dracula fan and was fresh off reading the book for the umteenth time when this MOVIE went into pre-production.
The result?
Gone with the Wind with Fangs.
-The romantic sub plot was soooooo Hollywood that it made me sick.
-They "humanized" one of the great inhuman characters throughout literary history.
-Dracula is a manipulative a**hole. He bit Mina and controlled her will because he was using her to defeat Van Helsing. There was no "I cannot do this because I luuuuuve you to much."
-I could go a little further like: Van Helsings left turn "Hey, I'm insane", in the middle of the MOVIE. Or this complete BS about him having "secret desires" about Mina.
Vomit, gargle, spit.
Bram Stokers Dracula?
No.
Francis Ford (ain't done squat since Apocalypse Now) Coppola's Dracula.
Bram Stokers novel was pimped out for this work of rubbish.
Unfortunately, I don't know if anyone will ever have the cajones to make a faithful adaptation of Bram Stoker book without having to tart up the script. Thats what happens when Hollywood takes a great idea for a film and makes a MOVIE.

Yeah, but many people hate the film for the reasons you stated. Read the post under yours.
