sorry for stealing the other guys idea BUT since will ferrell seems to be flavour of the month movie-wise then i think its an importnat question to ask, do you people think he's funny (And should make way more movie with Spielberg or Coppola) or just stoopid (And should be fired out of a canon into space with his movie where neither will bother anyone again)?!?!

He was funny on SNL.
He was funny as hell on Jay and Silent Bob.
He was funny as hell on A Night at the Roxbury.
He was stupid in Ladies Man, but then again that whole movie was incredibly stupid.
He was moderately funny in superstar, but, as with ladies man, the movie was really stupid.
I havent seen elf, so I dont know about that.

Overall, Id say funny...

It's reassuring to see 5 other people in the world don't find Will Ferrell funny.

I just can't take him in anything more than small doses. I really don't care for him as the lead character in movies. He just starts to annoy me and wear on my nerves after a while... a very short while.

Will Ferrel rocks! he's so funny...my favorite SNL castmember of all time...he's Hilarious in movies....and he even made me cry (from laughter)

In sketch comedy, he's alright. But I've seen the man interviewed a few times and he's boring as all hell. He throws in the obligatory lark... but he's not really comedic in the adlib sense.

For the most part, he's pretty funny, but a lot of the time he can be stupid. "A Night at the Roxbury" was just plain stupid, but he was hilarious in "Old School" and "Austin Powers."

The only time I thought he was funny was in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Otherwise I can't stand him. He's as bad as Jimmy Fallon, imho. He just gets on my nerves really quickly, as Pixi stated, and I just want to smack a piece of Duct Tape to his mouth and then beat him into submission.

i actually like him, the amount of films he is in and will eventually be in over the next year may be ridiculous and i can see myself getting utterly sick of him but we'll just have to see......

also chevy chase isnt funny.....

I think Will Farrel is funny sometimes, but mostly hes stupid. It can go both ways. In Old School, Austin Powers, and Jay and Silent Bob Strikes back I think hes funny, but in everything else i have seen him in hes stupid.
