I think Revolutions will have an alternate ending.
The Wach Bros have been very creative.
ex. Same release time around the world.
Maybe the folks who have seen the movie before Nov 5th are seeing the alternate ending.
If that's true, hopefully the DVD release will have both endings.

that'd be cool

Personally I really loathe alternative endings.

I don't mind extra scenes and things on the DVD's, but anything that fundamentally changes the story, especially the ending, is a bad idea IMO.

i don't like the idea. don't ask me why

It's the only way for the story not to be spoiled.

That would be pretty cool. But there's no way they'd have the better ending after November 5th hits. They want the best reviews for the film. That's a premiere's purpose.

No, I don't think there will be different endings. This is one story, and one story only that the Wachowski's have written for a long time. Alternative endings come around because someone can't decide on their story. This story has been planned for ages. No doubt they have it planned out the way they want it.

It doesn't matter how bad Revolutions is trashed. True fans are going to see it anyway becasue they want answers. And there are also these message boards that will spread the word around.
I don't think that rave reviwews are particularly necessary for this movie.

all of it. there will not be an Alternate Ending, because this is a decade or more worth of work.

on a side note; how is this ending any different to the one created by Speak_the_Truth? the principle is the same. peace between Human and Machine-kind.

i don't particularys like alternative endings myself. why would they want to give the movie crappy reviews by having a crappy ending?

God I hope there is alternate ending. Foxnews.com has a review up that claims One major, major charecter dies way before the end and another right as the movie ends... If you had hope for the couple coming in you will be dissapointed. damit I knew this would happen.

I really doubt they made two endings and showed the alternate one to the people seeing the movie before opening day.

You guys are really holding onto hope that what's been leaked isn't true and now your deluding yourselves by coming up with this crazy idea that The Bros have the REAL ending hidden away for us on opening day. Hahhaah...OMG.

Guy's there's only one film with one ending and we have to face it...They ****ed up what could have been one of the coolest trilogies to ever come around since the original Star Wars. It's a damn shame they dropped the ball but there's nothing we can do about it but learn from their mistakes and move on.

I'm sure there are ALOT of people on here that have their own stories to tell and maybe someday there will be a board discussing them like this one. My only hope is that IF you guys ever get that opportunity you take into account what's happening with these films and don't follow the same path.

I dunno..I just think it's bad enough we have real heroes dying and now we have to watch our fictional ones die too. Where's the entertaiment or joy in that. Sure it's a valid plot direction and it shows ficitional heroes like real ones die sometimes for a cause they believe in, but....these movies explored death in the first two. Why REHASH it again for the final one?!!!

Can you imagine IF Luke made a deal with Darth at then end by saying he'd join the Darkside if the Empire would agree to live in peace with the other systems!! BLAH!

I only hope by some miracle that this IS all a hoax or I am dreaming and no one has really seen the film yet. :(

STT seems to be legit. Maybe I am just holding out hope.
People over at TLFC are always trashing him including Dolan.
But, STT takes the heat and keeps coming back to answer any questions.

The alternate ending theory has to be true!!!!!!!!
The main site has the countdown at 33 days!!!!
This can't be a glitch!

http://whatisthematrix.warnerbros.com/

That takes us to about Thursday December 4.
What could that mean?

soremekun
11-01-2003, 06:23 AM
Logical reason for 2 endings.
True fans will see it twice, therefore paying twice!

It means there's a glitch, plain and simple. Just give it up.

No self-respecting film director(s) release a film with 1 'phony' ending', and then another 'true' ending, 'for the fans'. It's a ridiculous notion that if ever came to pass I would make a point of never seeing any of that director's films again because they would be playing stupid games with us purely to fatten their already bulgin wallets!

But there's no need to get wound up about it. It's not going to happen.

Thomas Anderson

I also don't think this will happen. It's just gonna end the way it is gonna end on Nov. 5th.

Neo's quote: It's not real! Get me out of here! (please correct if incorrect)

What was Mouse's quote?:
To deny one's own....

I think that fit's in here.
Could someone please finish it for me.

I think it's gonna happen. Glitch, yeah right! They know what they're doing.

Question: If there were two endings, would you go to see both of them?

freakyplatypus

Yeah. Hell yes I would.

Or maybe there is something else coming in 33 days?

NE0
11-01-2003, 12:23 PM
Yeah, in 33 days you can log onto the main Matrix site and see The Wachowski's mooning all of us for being stupid enough to pay to see Revolutions!

i doubt there is an alternate ending. i have no proof but its just a feeling. there wasnt one with the original matrix so i doubt there will be one for revolutions.

I think 2 endings would throw most off.
If another ending was released in the first week of Dec., it would increase ticket sales a bit (ticket sales decline each week) and allow it to have decent sales against LOTR which comes out the following week.

Lets add some fuel to this fire.
The counting down clock says 33 days. It opens on Nov 5. 33-5=28 as in 28days later, a movie with multiple endings.
Also you should note I take no stock in what I just said, but whats it hurt to dream.;)

No, I think it would show their creativity and uniqueness.
How many other films have done this in the theatre?

adt100
11-02-2003, 07:17 AM
I doubt any have, because it's a ridiculous idea on every level (except on the money grabbing studio exec level). It would completely de-value them as serious directors.

But, like most of us are saying, it won't happen.

its sooo ridiculous of thinking the matrix revolutions will have an alternate ending .. i mean its such a serious movie how can u have two endings for it .. a good and a bad ?????? anywayz an alternate ending is a stupid idea .. we wouldnt know what to think at the end of the trilogy !!

mikeyj
11-02-2003, 08:55 AM
I for one wouldn't mind seeing alternate endings but not on the cinema release....they would only be right on the DVD release!! Hopefully an ending where all the humans are "set free". I know that ending wouldn't happen but theres so many endings you could have!

matrixobsessed0
11-02-2003, 09:00 AM
I think an alternate endng would be the best thing for the matrix...why u may ask?????? They should release the original ending as planned, then release an alternate ending a month after. This would resolve the story for all those who want answers (like us), yet an alternate endng would keep the mystery alive(if it had a inresolves alternate ending).....Like what if something happened in the alternate endinmg that didn't quite resolve the story...the matrix thrives off of mystery......after 11/5, we will have al the answers and the conflict between man and machine will be over.....if an alternate ending were to be released i believe it would rekindle the mystique of that the original movie had .....just my opinion...Even if the alternate ending was contradictory to the primary ending (matrix destroyed vs humanity destroyed), that would still have people talking(lots of debates)...that would be a cool idea

spiderman_2k

People wouldn't care as they would see it as a way for Warner Bros to make some extra cash.

matrixobsessed0
11-02-2003, 09:39 AM
well the matrix has a huge fan base...i think they'd appreciate it....i would.....besides providing us with entertainment, the movie industry is still a business and they are out to make as mush $$$$ as possible......so all the more reason to make an alternate ending

after all these bad reviews, im thinking maybe they'll go and film an alternate ending to boost DVD sales. sadly, Revolutions is shaping up to be the biggest cinematic disappointment since SW episode 1.

The guy was only saying that the ending you will see on nov 5th could be different to the one already leaked - I doubt it will. But if any film were to pull a stunt like that it would be this one.

I dont see anything wrong with the rumoured ending anyway.

downflow311
11-02-2003, 03:59 PM
the ending is confirmed. every review of the movie supports it.

Turin Turambar

I don't mind alternative endings, but they could totally change the story. Like the alternate ending for Training Day turned Ethan Hawke's character from the pure naive good guy into just another crooked cop.

So it's important to keep the story in tact. Any alternative plots should be saved for the DVD. I doubt there's 2 theatrical releases with separate endings.
