I mean in the third book if it wasn't for Sam they would have never been able to throw the ring into Mount Doom , so why do we need Frodo just so he could get all the credit from Sam. The ending was not fair , your thoughts on this , later.
Well, if you want to get really technical since its Gollum that puts the ring into the fire of Mt. Doom, so neither hobbit should get the credit.

yep Gollum is the one who destroys the ring, noone even helped him. He was dancing in celebration and slipped and fell. So all the credit lies with Gollum. I wonder what Gollum will scream wen he falls into Mt.Doom maybe MY PRECIOUSSSSSS, or NOOOOOO, or AHHHHHHHH we will have to wait and see.

man, everyone is deserves credit.. no one is more important than another, Frodo just happened to be the ringbearer. The credit goes to the Fellowship . Bilbo is a hero because he got the ring outta gollums cave, Gandalfs a hero because he studied up and found out it was the one ring to start the fellowship and got it away from Bilbo, Frodo is the ringbearer, sam is loyal and helps out in ROTK, the Leoglas , gimli, pippin, merry, Boromir, and Aragron protect Frodo. of course Gollum does play a part by leading frodo away from the Black Gate and also later in ROTK so you see everyone plays their own part in the destiny of the one ring.

I think that Sam and Frodo are equal important in the story.

to quote frodo from TTT "Frodo wouldn't have got far without Sam"
frodo needed sam, for his support, and to help at CU and shelob's lair. the rest of the fellowship gave him security to carry out his task before they vroke, and after, and especially in ROTK, to provide a distraction. "we must keep Sauron's eye fixed on us. Keep him blind. " to quote gandalf with limited accuracy

I think Sam is much more important in ROTK.
I think Sam is more important than Frodo, if it wasn't for Sam, Frodo would've been killed way before he ever came near Mt. Doom. It's Sam who makes sure that the ring doesn't fall into the hands of the orcs when Frodo is lying unconscious, it's Sam who frees Frodo from the orcs, it's Sam who protects Frodo from Gollum because he doesn't trust him, not to mention that all through their quest, Sam is giving Frodo love and support which I don't think Frodo could've done without. Granted, had it been the other way around, and Sam had been the ring bearer, then it might've been Frodo who had the more important role as the supporter and helper because the ring makes you weak and incapable.

Yes all the things you guys are saying is true , I'm just saying why did Frodo get all of the credit in the end , when it was really Sam and Gollom who did the hard things. I know that wasn't my qustion in the beginning of my qustion I wanted to know how you guy's fealt about Sam being more important than Frodo , sorry for changing the qustion or going off to another topic but I'm really upset about how the ending happened , your thoughts on this , later.

I think that storywise, Frodo is more important because it all focuses around him.. as for the actual destruction of the ring, I'd say they're both equally important.

Sam lacks the courage to go to Mount Doom himself, too unwilling to let go of his comfortable status in the Shire and he's only there because of Frodo. Frodo is some sort of God to him or something...
Frodo, on the other hand, thinks he should destroy the Ring but it's corrupting him. He soon lacks faith in himself and Sam kind of helped him physically, and mentally by keeping him sane.
After all that, yes, they depend on each other, lol

I dont believe any characters are more important than any others, thats partly why I love the story so much- the different characters all trying to fight agaisnt the same evil.
Though Sam is my one of my favourite characters because imo the change he goes through.

I don't think anyone is more important than anyone else. All I have to say is Frodo decided to take the ring so none of the previously posted events would have happened if he never made that decision.
