Before i start, i have'nt seen this movie yet, but i plan to when it comes out here in the U.K. I have however, seen the original and remain sceptical as to wether the remake will be better. I've read a lot of mixed reviews, some saying it's brilliant, some saying it's pathetic. So, for now, i'm just going to assume that it's a GOOD movie.
But now, according to comingsoon, Michael Bay is working on getting a sequel in the works. As long as it does'nt have Dennis Hopper in it or involve the family living underground, it should be good.....
Maybe Erin goes back to house to finish the job she started on Leatherface ?
Who knows what the sequel will be about.......

I don't know why they have to have a sequal, its been tried before with the original TCM. They should just leave this one as a really good remake of a classic film, and that's all.

Yeah but this weekend, the money will not be as much.I expect a 65% drop.

Still has taken in easy enough money for them to realise a sequel will do well.

the last thing the horror genre needs is another string of lame slasher sequels.

I'll probably see it but, i'd perfer TCM to be a stand alone film.

sequel after sequel is what has killed the genre, originality is gone.

i know this is kind of off topic here, but when i had a question about freddy vs jason and started another thread, i was told i should put my question in one of the other threads that had already been started, so i will post my question here.
i found this summary for the movie.
Synopsis
Remake of Tobe Hooper's classic 1975 horror film about five young adults who are stranded near a rundown home in rural Texas and who are terrorized by a chainsaw-wielding nutcase called Leatherface.
The film is based on the true story of the discovery of 33 butchered people in a slaughterhouse in Travis County, Texas in 1973. The horrifying scene, considered by many to be the most gruesome mass murder case of all time, shocked the country and generated sensational headlines nationwide.

i have also heard that this remake and the original movie were based on some serial killer from the late 1940s. so which is it? is it based on just one of these or both?
