Platoon, followed by Saving Private Ryan. SPR was a little
too long for my liking.

Band of Brothers was a tv series - or is there a movie with the same name.
I like Full Metal Jacket.

I like SPR the best, but since no one has voted for BHD...I had to give it credit!

Band of Brothers was a mini-series. The most expensive production for television ever. Everyone should see this, 10x better than Saving Private Ryan.

Band of brothers was a mini series and not a full moive but its still the best cause its like saving private ryan just 3 times longer and much more detail about the war.

I dont concider Band Of Brothers a movie, but if it was it would be the best one. Saving Private Ryan wins best movie, followed by Black Hawk Down and then Platoon.
Platoons combat scenes dont come close to SPR, since SPR has probably has some of the most intense scenes ever filmed, but Black Hawk Down is great for the sheer Confusion it displays, for that is what it must have been like.
1. Saving Private Ryan
2. Black Hawk Down
3. Platoon
4. The Rest....

Probably Saving Private Ryan, followed by Patton.
Das Boot is also one of my favorites, which wasn't even included up there.

It comes down to Full metal jacket, Apocalypse now or Thin red line for me. I'll go with TRL, but damn Patton is amazing too.

Full Metal Jacket
The Thin Red Line
Apocalypse Now is too farking great not to be called the greatest war movie of all time. Of course, it doesn't show the reality of war the same way Saving Private Ryan or Black Hawk Down did. It's just a genuine classic movie.
Can you believe George Lucas was supposed to direct Apocalypse Now for Coppola but pulled out to make Star Wars? That makes you wonder...
