Let me just say one of the best times in my life, is when Luis Gonzalez hit the game winning hit in th bottom of the 9th in Game 7 of the World Series in 2001. My relatives were over, and were all die hard baseball fans, yankee haters. And all 17 of leapt for joy for 5 minutes, shaking the entire house. And what makes it even sweeter was that the hit was against Mariano Rivera, the yankees nearly unhittable closer.

Hmmmmm I dunno I'm trying to decide wether it's more embarrassing for the Red Sox to be taken down by their hated division rivals... or by a team that hasn't won the world series in like 90 years after the Cubbies kick the Marlins butts. :p

There could be worse teams than the Yankees, but I'd go for the Red Sox, just because they haven't had it in so long. Granted, it's not like 95 years, but they could have something deep down.

Tim Wakefield was amazing tonight. My dad and I were talking about when we first saw him back in '92 pitching for the Pirates in te NLCS. He didn't make it to the World Series back then but I hope he gets a shot this year. His Knuckleball is wicked awesome.

Wow... I didn't think there could be anything sadder than seeing Pedro toss Zimmer like a 72 year-old sack of potatoes... But I was wrong. Zimmer's apology was even sadder... Nothing like seeing an overweight 72 year old man be brought to tears over a baseball brawl...

Damn, Yankees win again and lead series 3-2, If Sox lose, hopefully the Marlins (who just now scored 8 runs in the eight to lead the cubs 8-3 in game 6) will knock off the Yanks. If Sox lose the series, I dont care who wins the World series as long as its not the Yankees!

I agree, Sox played well today. I was really mad at them yesterday for not playing well. I mean home runs are good, they're great, but it's runs like this that win the game. If they play like this tomorrow, they should do just fine and hopefully Pedro is going to be able to go back to being his-great-self.

Does anyone know if the fan from the Cubs game made an appearence at this game tonight??? :D This is just crazy. I must admit though that the playoffs this year have been awesome. I have never been this excited to watch playoff baseball for a long time.

what the cubs fan did ( his name btw , is Steve Bartman ), he tried to catch a fly ball that the cubs outfielder could have caught. But because the fan went for the ball/deflected it, the outfielder couldn't make the play. so you could say that he is 1 reason why the Cubs lost the game.
