Damn right! How can you choose between the two greatest movies ever made, so far.

Mirokai

And like it's say in another thread they' re not 3 differents movies is just a big big movie

glecoq
10-08-2003, 01:37 AM
i agree, but if i made a choice that included both, everyone would have chosen that, and i wouldn't get any results! ...Its one big story, 3 movies in my opinion.

yea, but i think that the fellowship was a more rounded movie, and it was the first, which may have swayed my decision becuase i have been waiting so long!

I'm waiting for TTT EE to make up my mind.

At this moment I like the Fellowship EE the most, so yes: I'm waiting for TTT EE to give my final judgement!

Fellowship of the Ring.

No question. Definitely. Without a doubt. Though I love TTT and think it's one of the best movies ever made, I seriously doubt anything will ever touch the glory that is FOTR, even ROTK. Though ROTK does have a chance...

People annoy me so much when they say it is "one big movie"!! Ugh! Yes, it is one big VOLUME, but it is NOT one big movie! It is three movies making up ONE trilogy, ONE volume... I have worked on a trilgoy for 5 years, and I do not consider it one big book, it is three seperate volumes adding up to the major one.

When people ask which movie you like best you either choose one or say they are equal. But come on! Stop saying it is one big movie! Ugh!

it is one big movie/story. Tolkein originally wanted all of this in one book but was divided into 3. its ONE MOVIE DIVIDED INTO 3 PARTS.

Then why bother having such a climatic ending in Fellowship and Two Towers? If this was so, then Fellowship should of been more boring (as the book's ending to it was) and Two Towers' helm's deep should NOT have been that climatic. Don't tell me it is for the sake of cinema, if that is so, then you distress your argument that it is one big movie.

I loved both Fellowship Of The Ring and The Two Towers. However, I love TTT more.

I agree, remember, they filmed these movies all at once. So it is on big movie, IMO. If they filmed one, saw how it did, then filmed the next one, and so on, I would consider them seprate movies.

You are premature on this poll...

You should have posted this AFTER December 17th...

And even then you cannot compare them... They are all one in the same movie

EQUAL! Neither one if better than the other and trying to decide is stupid. Both have good qualites and both have points. Fellowship showed the beginning of the journey and what they are setting out to protect, like the Shire and love. An example is Aragorn and Arwen. The Two Towers was showing the real trials and allies these people have, the ents and the Rohirrim and to show that before people can see light it is always dark. Don't forget its darkest before dawn!

Do you really think that because both movies have good qualities and good points, that one movie cannot be better? You really don't think that each of the different qualities might appeal to different people? I believe that you are very much mistaken, and you're opinion is very ignorant.
If you think that character and plot development is more important, then you would most likely enjoy FOTR more. Although some people thought that it was too slow and boring, so those people might enjoy TTT more. I know plenty of people who like TTT more than the FOTR. And others who were the other way. Asking people which movie they enjoyed more is NOT stupid, sorry.

OH, WHAT A SURPRISE... A DIFFERENT OPINION!!!

Necross
10-18-2003, 01:13 PM
Its only ignorant is you can't stand my opinion, I don't care if you like one better than the other. I was a bit harsh in my post, and I apologize, but I am by no means ingnorant. I love both movies equally, there is nothing in one that makes it better than the other for me. I appreciate everything in both, so don't be calling my opinion ignorant because that is ignorant in its self.

Necross
10-18-2003, 01:17 PM
Also the only reason I was being harsh is because it seems you are trying to make people choose no matter what. You don't have a same option and you did post that "If there was one, everyone would pick that." That just shows that you want to force people to choose between them, thereby nulling some valid opinions. Thats what I meant by stupid, not that if you truely see one is better its stupid, but trying to force people to choose is.

Even if it is one big movie, you can still like one part better than another. You can like the beginning and hate the end of a movie. If I have to choose, I choose Two Towers. They're both great but I like Two Towers better. If it is "one movie" then this movie is getting better as it goes along in my opinion.

If that were the case then Lord of the rings trilogy could be equal to the sleepaway camp trilogy!! I mean come on, whats the difference, they're both trilogys!!

I liked them both the same cos u cant really compare them as the trilogy is really 1 film split into 3 parts.

I enjoyed FOTR more. You get the whole happy-to-angst feeling throughout the entire movie. TTT is more fighting and struggling, though I enjoyed the Gollum/Smeagol parts tremendously!

Can't wait to see Merry and Pippin with Treebeard and the ent draught!
