Well, since no one's moved the forum...

Kevin Costner has entered my head from time to time as Roland, but it's not quite right, I don't think. The obvious choice would be a younger Clint Eastwood, that would be perfect, but obviously that's a tad unrealistic. Maybe Viggo Mortennsen (sp?), but I don't know about him either. Roland is damn near impossible to cast, to me. I've been trying for years and, aside from Clint, I just can't get it. I wouldn't be too disappointed if they actually did move forward making a movie with Costner in the role, though.

You're right, Mr. Osment is a shoo-in for Jake. There aren't even any other contenders.

Halle Berry as Susannah is, surprisingly enough, a thought that never occured to me. I guess just 'cuz I don't like the woman. The closest I'd gotten was Whitney Houston. But yeah, Berry would be good, I think, despite my misgivings about her personality off-screen. That's a good one.

While Johnny Depp may well be up there close to second in my choices for Eddie, my number one is, was, and probably always will be Christian Slater. He's perfect for the role, I think, and that's the one I'll stick to my guns on.

As for the Ageless Stranger, no offense or anything, but have you lost your mind? Jamie Sherridan was the absolute worst thing about The Stand, it was one of the most horrible cases of miscasting I've ever seen, and the telemovie suffered considerably for it. Me, I'd pick Gary Oldman. I don't think anyone comes close.
