Just curious about what ya'll think about American Beauty. It seems people either really liked it or hated it with a passion when it came out.
Oh and I included the poll just cause I like makin polls, but I'd rather have a bunch of in depth comments.

I didn't think it was very good, I thought it was terribly overrated. I understand why people liked it and why it won Best Picture, but I think it could have used a lot more work, and a lot of the stuff didn't need to be there. I saw the moral and everything, but there are a lot better movies out there with a lot better morals.

A clear step down for Kevin Spacey from the Usual Suspects.
But then again, virtually any role would be.

This is my favorite movie ever. I've never related to a movie more than this one, or felt moved and inspired the way I did. I can watch it 100 times and never tire of it. It's got drama, comedy, suspense, the whole nine yards. Perfect movie. 10/10

Accoriding to the poster I keep right in front of my PC it is one of my favorite movies of all time. It was also the first DVD I ever bought.

I think it's overrated, but was still pretty good. Definitely didn't deserve Best Picture, though. Can you say Magnolia?
