Who exactly was the killer in this film? It seemed to be Adam since his nose bled at the end, but Dorothy had a bruise on the side of her face once the mask was removed. A bruise on the same side of her face that Ruthie struck the killer on with the pool stick earlier. Also, Dorothy was powdering up her face on that side when Kate walked in after the Ruthie death scene.
Also, that dude who was scamming Dorothys money, Campbell, why would Adam wanna kill him? He never even met Adam, or posed a threat to him. Also, Dorothy prior to Campbells death, told him to go downstairs and light the pilot in the basement. Then hes offed. Seems to me that she set him up so she could have an opportunity to off him.
Then again, Adam and Dorothy could have been working in tandum but I really don't see why since Dorothys lie at the dance was what caused Adam to get his ass kicked.

It was Adam. The nose bleeds, the fact he had motive and she didn't, and the build of the murderer all point to him.
He just made her out to be the killer.

Actually she had motive. She just revealed it near the end in her
"You were always the popular one, Shelley was always the brainy one, Lily was the funny one, Paige was the sexy one, and I was the big fat one" speech. Jealousy.

i didnt really like the movie, but the scene where denise richards got locked in the spa and he was drilling her through the plexi glass was classic.
i assumed the killer was adam.

I assumed it was him too but I've seen the film like a billion times and there are also things that point to Dorothy as the killer. I mean when a person asks someone to go into the basement to perform a task for them, and the person goes, and is killed a minute later, it just seems too logical for the viewer not to suspect the person who asked them to do that favor for them.
Especially since they had motive.
Also the weirdness factor is very high in this film for a number of reasons...
Maybe Dorothy was confronted by Adam, and he was gonna kill her. But seeing as how Adam most likely hasn't been with a woman ever, she could've seduced him into letting her live and she agreed to helping him kill her friends to save her own skin.
However, Adam let Dorothy think she was in control but all along he had planned on framing her for the murders but just let her live figuring that having someone kill for him would make it even more impossible for the cops to finger him in the murders.
Or maybe her and Adam made up years ago, and planned to commit these murders since they both hated Paige, and Lily. However, the sketchy part would've been Dorothy wanting to kill Kate. Two things could've happened...
A) Adam let Dorothy think he was okay with her killing Kate, but then turned on her at the end and framed her.
B) Dorothy agreed not to kill Kate. Then she changed her mind after Kate pissed her off after the power failure. Hence Adam and Dorothy had an arguement over it, which became a struggle. Adam overpowered her, and decided his only option now was to frame Dorothy for everything. Hence the reason why after Kate runs back into the house after seeing the cops head in the stream, you hear glass breaking upstairs. Then when shes running from Adam, she runs up to Dorothys room which is all ransacked.

i am wandering if they were implying that her and adam were both involved in it, because based on what she said she was certainly involved in the killing.

I don't consider jealousy to be a strong enough motive, especially when Adam had an even stronger motive.
And I doubt she and Adam would work together since it was her fault he got sent away.

Adam = Jeremy Melton...
After a face change, at least that's what I think.

Despite the ending, it's been over 2 years since it's release and there has been no talk of a Sequel (Has there ?)
Let's keep it that way...

theres no need for a sequel any ways. plus if they did make a sequel it would just be different chacaracters and it would go straight to video

i thought it was an ok film but i don't think there will be a sequel because it didn't make all that much money for a horror film.

They are working on a sequel but don't know what direction to go in. Some people wanna continue from the first film. Others wanna go with what was planned from the get go, which was to have around 4 "Valentine" themed films released each year, but dealing with different people and a different killer.

I've always wondered about the killer too. I'll watch the movie with commentary(by the director) and then maybe it'll be a bit more clear.

Adam was certainly the killer. I guessed this because when I watched the film, at the first killing I noticed the killer's body type. At the funeral, we first see Adam and I was like, "BAM! That guy's the killer!" And I was right.
This method didn't work for me when I saw Urban Legend but that was because they had some guy do all the killing until the very end. But in Valentine it worked fine. Sure, Dorothy was a big girl, but not THAT BIG.
