In America, horror films on TV were THE institution:
As a young lad in the early 70's TV was inundated with horros hows such as Chiller Theatre, Creature Feature, Dr. Shock, Nightmare Theatre and Fright Night to name a few. Syndicated horror films from the 30's-40's up to the present time (the 70's in this case) were shown all the time. I'd love nothing more than a horror channel or the return of the old UHF channels themselves, where TV horror was king. If you were up late on Friday or Saturday night, chances are you were watching a horror film.

Drive In shows some old horror films occasionally as well.

A horror channel would be nice, but only if they don't show "Horror Original Pictures" and show actual horror movies.

I did too, till they got rid of "LEXX", "The Invisible Man", "The Chronicle", and "First Wave". and Replaced them with crappy ass "Farscape" and non stop episodes of "Stargay-te". Not to mention the crappy flicks they show every weekend. SCI-FI= A waste.

It's about freeking time!!!!!!
Not to b*tch to much here, but I used to enjoy the Sci-Fi channel when they were trying to be a cable channel and not a "network" with an actual evening lineup.
And don't get me started with the Halloween that AMC (American Movie Classics) is going to offer.
Yeah, another Michael Myers all-day Halloween 1 through pie, "yawn-fest". I can remember not to long ago when AMC spent all of October showing nothing but every scarey movie they had in their vault. Halloween week, they'd focus on each diferent genre of monster for that day. Now they're barely breaking a sweat and barely showing scarey movies Halloween week.
So much for "Monster-Fest".
At least TCM (Turner Classic Movies) will spend Halloween night showing the classic Universal B&W's.
Either way, American TV NEEDS a 24 Hour Horror Movie channell.

what they need to do with scifi is show scifi and not horror movies, and then put those horror movies on the new channel if it is made. the scifi channel needs to stick with what it does right, miniseries like taken, which are what the audience of that channel want to see.

I liked it better a few years back when all the old Irwin Allen shows were on in the morning: Lost In Space, The Time Tunnel, Land Of The Giants, and Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea.
Those were some great shows. Add to the original Outer Limits and the old standard, The Twilight Zone, and the Sci-Fi Channel was tops. Hell I want them to put the NEW Gigantor from the early 90's on again too. Iron Man 28.....GO!!!! :applaud:
And by the way America DOES have a 24 hour Horror Movie Channel-we call it MSNBC. The world sucks 24\7 and they bring it right into our living rooms 24\7 just like they promise.

I know it won't happen, but if this channel does come about I hope they show the movies unedited for television. I hate bad edits and dubbing!!!

They should probably air them commercial free and Uncut. That is the only way to see any movie.IMO.

the scifi channel is good when they stick to scifi, like with the taken miniseries, but they need to quit showing horror movies.

It used to be a good channel when they had the retro stuff on too, like the original Outer Limits and The Twilight Zone, as well as Lost In Space and Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea. Farscape was a cool show but like many it fell by the wayside because they couldn't keep it fresh. Be that as it may, I saw another movie with Claudia Black where she did full frontal nudity and I must say she was quite nice, he he. Anyhow back when it was known as the "Odyssey Channel" they showed old anime as well-what a treat it was to wake up to Star Blazers and the New Gigantor almost every morning. Gotta' have the old with the new, it's the law of balance. No school like old school.

Remember Stella from Saturday Night Dead? She had a HUGE chest man.....She even had some of the cows going "whoa, now those are udders." Her and Elvira together would make the perfect set of ear warmers for any guy...

Does anyone know if it's going to be like a movie channel? Or is it going to be network?
I'd hate to just have to watch a buncha editted horror movies. It needs to be part of the Stars super pack.

Oh, I'm sure you'll see plenty of scary movies in jail. Some of the titles you have to look forward to are: Portrait of an Ass Raper, The Soap of Doom, and The Squirrel Master's Bltch
