Whats a keeper league?

Slipknot
09-04-2003, 05:32 PM
A Keeper League is a league that lasts 3 or more years... and each year you pick a certain amount of players to keep on your team so you will have them for the next year... and you keep doing this until the owner of the league calls it quits.

Hey fellow hockey fans
I joined the league but if the draft stays at that time I won't be able to make it. I have my pre-ranks all set-up but if everyone were to find a time for everyone that would be cool but if not I'll manage and manage to kick some ass ha ha

I just set my pre rankings in case I'm not here for the day of the draft. I'm excited. I joined the CS Football league as well, but I don't even know who any of the players are, so I don't really care about it. This I will follow religiously.

Any thoughts about changing the draft time? I know some people won't be able to make it.

tedward
09-19-2003, 03:03 PM
What sort of changes are you thinking of? I dont mind the time its at now - ideally though it would be a bit earlier.

I'm most likely gonna miss the draft if it is still at 4:30 or wahtever time it is at. The later the better.

How is that? I know last year not everyone could make it. I wasn't able to but I managed to get a very good team. As did the majority of everyone but injuries etc, not assigning players when they play isn't going to help.

Shaister
09-21-2003, 03:59 AM

How did it go for you guys then?

I couldnt make it - and didnt get the one player I wanted Peter Forsberg, doesnt matter I got Naslund anyway.

Quite a few players I recognise from playing NHL '94 - Brett Hull, Mario Lemeuex etc are they still good?

Kris Hodgson

Yes Brett Hull is doing really well still. His line last year was the old man and the two kids. He scored 37 goals I believe which is very good. As for Lemieux he should do well but he doesnt play every game, in most cases that is better than some players in a full season.

Colorado Cajun had the second pick and picked Forsberg. He did that last year so I wasn't expecting to draft him. I had Mario last season and while he was injured he did quite good for me, better than other players.

How many days a week are there NHL games on, usually?

JAE
10-10-2003, 03:31 PM
There is usually a game on Tuesday thru Saturday. Sundays are rare and Mondays are unheard of.....don't know why.

slinger

MNF.

In Canada I would say hockey is on 5 times a week. Double header HNIC on CBC, NHL on TSN, plus regional on RogersSportsNet.

You folks enjoying the spanking you're receiving from my team? I suggest you folks get use to it because my team is very strong

Great night for sports. MLB and hockey.
Hockey games that I've flipped through tonight:

Det/Van wiht Daniel Sedin going through the glass without shattering it, NYR/Atl's exciting OT, Tor/NJ with NJ dominating OT.

I did good tonight with my fantasy team.

Kris Hodgson
10-30-2003, 01:13 PM
How do we score points anyway? This is confusing to me.

Shaister
10-30-2003, 05:22 PM
Points are scored on how you stand statistically with everyone in the division. The manager with the most goals get the value equal to the number of managers in the league for our league it is 10. The manager with the least amount of goals is rewarding only 1 point. This applies to all the catagories the commissioner has chosen.
Congrats slinger you are doing well

Kris Hodgson
10-30-2003, 05:25 PM

Congrats slinger you are doing well

And if there is ties then you get 3.5 [or whatever pts] with the other team your tied with. I meant to pick shots instead of shooting percentage. Thats what we had last year. Thanks Shaister. After picking up some players the team has been doing much better.

Shaister
10-30-2003, 06:43 PM
Yeah when you're active it only helps. I haven't made many moves because I'm pretty pleased with my team but we'll see.

I wanted out last year of the Fantasy Baseball league, but they convinced me just to leave my team alone.

Right now you're in fourth place. If you want to make trades you can, but try to make them semi-even. As commish I can stop a trade. So no #12 ranked player for #333 ranked player.

Or you can leave your team as is and check back in the spring and see how things went.

How did you lose interest?

slinger

Don't know how but nobody else picked up Boucher. Wish I picked on this earlier but I thought maybe somebody maybe had him but nope. Who knows how long his shutout or winning streak goes but I was able to get one W and shut out from him. Watched the 2nd and parts of the 3rd. Great to hear Kurt Chielback call the game in a hockey loving smart city like St.Paul.

Rank Team Pts
1 Texas Air Biscuits 107.5
2 Habs for Life 103
3 River City Renegades 102.5

With 6-5 games left for all the teams it could go right down to the last day for number one. I missed out on 4 wins and 2 shutouts last week which would've made me catch up to Habs for Life in wins and dropped both my GAA and Save %. Oh well.
