How much longer do you think the terminator forum will last?

spiderman_2k

Years and Years because there most likely will be a Terminator 4 and Terminator 5 and if those go well you can expect more plus considering how long it takes for the Warner Brothers movie factory to churn out those films.

Yeah but of the T4 production drags on too long..An admin may remove this forum for a while....

Nah, i think that both will last, they each just need a big announcement, then the excitement will spark again.

LOTR will stay for a while....At least until all the hype from the ROTK EE dies out

spiderman_2k
08-26-2003, 10:47 PM
True..Matrix will stay until Revolutions DVD is released....
This place will get kind of empty forum-wise come next summer..I cant think of any franchises that will need there own forum for next year....

The threads will stay alive as long as there's new developments in the series. Who knows they might make a 4th Matrix and don't forget the Hobbit is still part of LOTR, Terminator 4 is being written at the moment

spiderman_2k
08-27-2003, 09:59 AM
I very much doubt we will see a Matrix ...
The Hobbit may replace the LOTR thread to make it more "appropriate"
T4's screenplay wont be turned in for 9 months...Thats quite a long time of hearing nothing about it....

SkyNet

i just hope this screenplay for T4 makes it a better movie than T2, otherwise even after 15 or so years, it makes the series look like its going downhill.

With the future war idea being used for T4, it better beat T2's story. :(

spiderman_2k
08-27-2003, 10:55 AM
Nothing will beat T2...Im just hoping for a future war film, worthy of continuing the Terminator name....

SkyNet

i'm sure a lot of people wanted a T3 better than T2, but even james cameron himself said he would have problems doing that.

However, Warner Bros. better take the time to make T4 at least as good as T2 was in its days, because a lot of the general public and some Terminator fans really did not like T3 all that much.

spiderman_2k
08-27-2003, 11:03 AM
Alot of people maybe wanted it to be better...but it was never going to be better...T4 probably wont be better then T2, but with what it can be..it should end up being better than T3...IMO

SkyNet
08-27-2003, 11:04 AM
Yes, it better damn better be.

spiderman_2k
08-27-2003, 11:05 AM
Well it wont be a re-hashed story..so that will be one good thing going for it

SkyNet
08-27-2003, 11:08 AM
lol....make arnold protect john while he leads the resistance and send the T-X-1000 to kill him during the war. That sounds great.

spiderman_2k
08-27-2003, 11:11 AM
Well...some people may want that...its the only way Arnie can be it..I say no-more Arnie..a cameo maybe...but he is no longer needed for the story to move on....

SkyNet
08-27-2003, 11:29 AM
Well, of course he's not needed, but somehow i hope he is, maybe even playing 2 or 3 different terminators sent for special missions like one for infiltrating the resistance's base (destroy people, equipment, etc.), another to target john (like in T1), and one to command a huge 2nd unit to strike other ares along side Skynet (1st unit).

Or something like that. :D

Cant happen in T4...assuming when it is set...I doubt we wil lsee the beginning-middle and end of the war in one film...So we can assume this is the beginning of the war...Meaning T-70's are still being used...T-800's with Arnie skin covering arent for another 30 or so years....

SkyNet
08-27-2003, 11:48 AM
maybe.....but they could skip that entirely, or show the beginnings for the first 50 minutes or so, then break to the future, hopefully somewhat near the T-800's construction as the middle of the war. Then T5 carries that to the end of the war and the conclusion of the series, since i don't want to see a T6 because that would be too much. :D

T4 and T5 would be the sum of the first 3 movie's premise and should be what makes this franchise for all its worth, the essence of it: the war against the machines.

Think about it..U have to throw in alot of things into those 2 movies....Camps..Skynet..Constrction...Kyle being sent back...the introduction to the Tech Com Forces...Thats alot of stuff to fit into 2 films...Plus the characted development aspect of the films, must be put back in the future war films....As it is an important part, to see how the characters act in this situation....

SkyNet
08-27-2003, 01:31 PM
It can EASILY be done in 2 movies if not one, trust me.

spiderman_2k
08-27-2003, 01:33 PM
Then u must not be thinking in the grandness that the next films deserve and need to be, if they are to be faithfull and sucessfull

ANY movie franchise can be made into 2 movies, or 4 or whatever. The Terminator series is no different; do you really think people want to see T4 in 2006, T5 in 2009, T6 in 2012?

When will it end, and when will people get sick of seeing sequels after sequels, knowing that the ending of T4 and T5 will be a cliffhanger or some open-ended scene for the next chapter?

It would prolong the same overall premise of war with machines ove and over.......people wont care about T6 or T7....

Yes any movies can be...Doesnt mean they "have" to be...Terminator does...Have u read the books??
If so you would see how big a future war movie could be...Plus the new future war needs to have the T-850'S attempt to terminate John...
And if you do the 3 films, at 3 different periods during the war...The feeling wont be the same..The Terminators wil be different in each film...as would be most of the cast....
