Not that I really care about the Teen choice awards, but I was gone for about 4 days, and somebody on here probably posted the results but I missed it. So how did it do.

I have no idea what the 'Teen Choice' awards are, but their very name suggests a certain level of rubishness! Those nominations and winners seem to confirm that for me.

It's on FOX, and hosted by used to be funny guy David Spade. That should tell you all you need to know.

i know

last year i read that thye gave best actress to sarah michelle gellar for scooby doo. which is crap
all it is, is a popularity contest
i mena jenifer aniston would have never won if she wasnt known as rachel from friends becuase the majority of the people who voted havnt seen The Goood girl/are to young to see The Good Girl:p

just a popularity contest. paul walker winning confirms that.

That's really pathetic, that list--except for Pirates of the Caribbean and the Sweet Home Alabama awards. I confess I'm a bit of a romantic, and the latter movie was something of an obsession with me for a while. But everything else was a cheap win, especially the Choice Movie Award for Drama/Action! I don't wish to offend any Matrix fans--seeing as how I was one myself--but Reloaded was NOTHING compared to TTT.

Queen Arwen:I'm inclined to agree with you.Reloaded, though pretty good,is miles behind TTT in quality(well, not THAT far,but it isn't very close either)

It's the teenie boppers that pay to see these movies and make the cash and I think they know whats best for them, its not like you need a "Qualification" in watching and voting on movies now is there.

If it was the peoples choice then TTT would have won in the oscars so dont tell me they know what there talking about.... :/

if the oscars were voted by people than everyyear it would be predictable it would pretty much be the biggest movie of the year instead of the smaller ones who diserve it

so i am glad that there are only like 4 types of people choice awards (nickelodeon, peoples choice, teens choice, MTV awards)

Teen choice awards are dismissed by most movie fans, except if your in that age bracket. the people that vote for these awards dont know what makes a movie good or bad and they dont know anything about real acting skills or technicalities. they vote for who is hotter then the others. it is a popularity contest, like everything that most teenagers vote for. here is the proof:

Eminem winning for best actor, give me a break. he portrayed himself, no real acting skill involved
Paul Walker winning for best chemistry (joke)
Quenn Latifah for best actress (she was playing herself in that movie)

like i said, obviously a popularity contest. the only awards that REALLY matter in the movie industry are the oscars and golden globes. they are voted for by people that KNOW what to vote for.

and ROTK is getting some huge buzz already for the oscars. i think this may be the year when PJ gets credit where credit is due. there hasant been any real competitors yet this year. i think the 2003 oscars will belong to ROTK. critics seem to agree as well.

it depends on who you are

the screenplay isnt great but it is really funny but most of it is race jokes and physical comedy

so if you are a steve martin fan than you probally wont be disappointed if not then you might like it

I like Bringing Down the House.

Anyway, the Teen Choice Awards is just a stupid award show who limits the votes by just letting 13 year old girls vote. The only way you can vote is by either buying the Seventeen magazine or by going to their website.
And yes is more of a popularity contest, a person who really cares about films shouldn't care for this crap. Is just a meaningless award show. And this year was more crappier than ever.

I watched part of it. It was one of the worst put together peices of crap ever. It had nothing to do with how well a movie was made or how well someone acted, it was all about popularity. It didn't matter what the movie was, the actor or movie would win just from people voting for it because they were obsessed with it.

It was very predictable. It was just a matter of who was there, who hadn't won yet, and what actor/movie was most appealed to the very large female populace.

Why do you think Adam Sandler has won the most awards on the show ever? I mean I like Adam Sandler, but that says enough about the show. *Holds two actors in his hands and weighs them* Jack Nicholson?.. Adam Sandler?..

The layout and everything in it was far from entertaining. It was just sad. Not to mention the award is a lame surf board (sorry to surfers). It just doesn't make sense especially since it'd be harder to setup a freakin surf board as a trophy or award somewhere, and it's also more expensive to make the boards than a simple award that can be put on a shelf (which i'd prefer to have).

Oh well, big waste of time.

It reminded me of back in school at the end of the year, they selected students to play this baseball game between the students and the teachers. The students were picked by vote.

It was all the popular kids. There were probably several students that knew how to play baseball and knew how to play it good, but everyone voted for the popular students.

Thats how the Teen Choice Awards seem to me.

Watch Punch Drunk Love. Greatest Adam Sandler performance ever... Great directing for him, too, with the guy who directed Magnolia doing this film... One of my favorites of late...

And as for the Teen Choice Awards... I wouldn't mind having some intelligent teens on the panel who chooses the Oscars... Think how much cooler it would have been for teens to have voted Saving Private Ryan best pic over Shakespeare in Love back in '99.... Anyway, it'd be cool to have some new blood on the Oscar committee....
