i am currently collecting them for one big battle (im inventing one cause then i can have all the characters in the battle)

I wanna save up a lot of money and get some of those wen the LOTR Exhibition comes to Boston next August - October. Then im gonna buy a loit of LOTR stuff, i hope ill have a job by then so i can buy a ton of stuff.

I baught both the 2 disc FOTR and i also baught the FOTR SE 4 disc. u r misinformed Marvin, and how can u call it a cheapo edition wen u dont even have the 4 disc FOTR SE, u only have the 2 disc regualr FOTR.

i saw the statues thingies at Te Papa, and they were ridiculously expensive, even the mini-miniatures

they were about $1000 NZ for a decent sized pair of them. didn't see the price for the Balrog. so, find work quickly

the prices should be reasonable if they want to sell some stuff, like they had lorien cloaks, mae out of the same stuff that they used in the movies, and they were about $5000, and just a scarf of that stuff was about $400

Some of the minatures/statues and the like are of really high quality, one that sticks in my mind is the 'twilight' Witch King with sword in hand. Because they're limited edition collectables though they tend to be really expensive, which is why I won't be buying any of them.

okay i have some right now.

3 elf archers from Lorein
4 men of Gondor
4 archers (from the beggining of the film)
1 frodo
3 urks archers
4 sword archers (also for the beggining of the film)
1 cave troll (cost a lot)
3 urks fighters as well
6 fighting orcs
3 orc bowmen.

thats all right now

im building up the bad guy side first then starting the good guys.

hopefully i will have lots of urks and orcs, i should have the 9 nazgul.

im currently building my set. which will be one one side a castle Wall, on the other a cliff face. on the grounds will be the swords and stuff.

on the cliff face will be the bad guys archers.

on the castle wall. will be Legolas and the elf erchers.

Sounds real cool. I was looking at the Games Workshop site and I am starting to get interested. So are you going to actually play the game with them or is it all for show.

I agree Slipknot. I'm no artist so mine would probably turn out horrible. If only I could build some kind of machine to paint them for me. :p

no just for show, though i will tke pics and show you all once they are completed.

I think they should just paint them for u, its rediculus for pple who cant paint well... and it always has some detail wrong wen u do it.

yeah , and it is annoying, as they show some in colour when you go to buy them, but you find that they are not painted when ya get them. i don't actually have any, but i do know a bit about them
