the texas chainsaw massacre......now you have probably had this argument before but i have been gone for quite a while.......I heard a long time ago that they were considering remaking a classic of the horror genre and well i didnt think much of it. The idea of anyone wanted to even attempt that was laughable so i put it to the back of my mind. But then it happened.....
i know very little bout this movie and to be honest i hope never to see a trailer or hear another word about it. Are people in hollywood so ****ing money hungry that they insist on remaking a great film and giving all the people who havent seen this movie before to see a second rate bull**** version of it? now pisses me off even more is that those *******s who made this remake will go on TV saying "Yeah i think we made a great film worthy of the texas chainsaw nametag" and no-name celebs going into the premiere being interview outside saying how ****ing great is it when it obviously is not. I havent seen it and i never ever plan to.....i hope it flops, i hope the actors never work again and i hope the director goes broke...............
then again it could be good.......

If there has ever been a remake that actually deserved being done, it's this one. I've said it before, I'll say it again: the original Chainsaw was a huge honkin' hunk of ass movie. It put the "suck" in "suck". The story and the idea were good at the time but the director just fu**ed it all up, and although it's been done a squillion times over since, I think the original should be given a chance to get done right. I hope this is it. As vehemently as you bash this remake, se7en, I bash the original. I don't want to start arguing back and forth, don't get me wrong, 'cuz no one's gonna change anybody's mind on the subject, I'm just saying that if there's ever been a remake I supported whole-heartedly and without reservation, it is this. Because it can't, just can't, be any worse than the original.

According to the people making the movie it's a reconceptulisation and not a remake

I don't care for movies like that. To me it's just glorification of a murderer.

Showed the trailer in front of "SWAT"...now I had already downloaded the trailer and really dug it...but seeing it with other people...people who have no idea what it was...who have no idea what the original is...it was great...the reaction was just what it should have been...people where totally drawn in...people were still chattering about it through the entire preview that followed it...
Of course if good previews garunteed a good movie, it would be movie geek heaven.

The trailer would definitly be good on widescreen in the dark theatre. Seeing SWAT tomorrow, can't wait to see it.

this is one would make a good remake. the movie was based on a really good idea, but made a terrible movie. one of the few films that have actually made me sick to watch.

I would have agreed that this was a stupid remake . . . then I saw the trailer. That trailer blew me away. I didn't even think that it was the TCM until halfway through the trailer, I just thought it was some scary ass movie.
I've added this to my list of movies to see now on the trailer alone. Damn that was creepy

I didn't really care if a TCM remake was made or not because I'd never cared for the original, but after seeing the trailer for it, I'm kind of hyped for it.
And as for Dawn of the Dead, I've seen images from the set, and I can say the imagery and zombies look okay. Not going to say it's going to be good. It's def not going to overrule the original.
