So u thought it was seamless then.
I personally thought the effects were great i just wanted 2 know other peoples views because of the huge budget. did they live up to expectations.

Other people might have a different opinion so you should wait for at least 5 or 6 opinions before coming to a conclusion

Ill have to wait for the dvd to say if it was seemless.
I thought the bit where the tx was stuck on the big accelerator thingy could of looked better. There was nothing spectacular in the same way t2 was the buisness when it came out.
The crane chase was spectacular. Another thing there - was no really cgi bits that looked out of place like there was in matrix 2.

me neither the crane chase was amazing. Very realistic and also the fight between Arnie and the TX were standout moments.
i also like the last scenes showing the bombs hitting.

i think all the effects were very seemless, since i never even really noticed anything unrealistic. Very well done.
However, Matrix Reloaded was about as realistic as the green guy....

The effects in T3 were pretty good but for 200 million you would think they could do a lot better. Maybe because all the money went to arnie's payday.

LOL - the film had a high budget cos' it cost SO much to effing get the rights to the film.
The actual film is around $100 - 130 mill, withthe other 50 - 80 mill being film rights

Special effects worked a treat. Couldn't spot anything wrong with the CGI, unlike in The Two Towers which didn't have the best of CGI at most times in the film.

Special effects were great.. But at the end they showed very little of the "Judgement Day"... I expected to see at least a few minutes of complete destruction and instead we only saw a lone bomb exploding.. (and the orbital scene..)

Hopefully that will be the kind of thing at the beginning of T4..maybe as the intro is rolling..ie T2...Just done differently.

I'm still slighty peeved, I don't why but it really bothered me that they got the age wrong of John Connor in the talking intro, it makes you question the timeline. Hopefully they'll correct it for the DVD.
Terminator 1 - 1984: John Connor not born until 9 months after event
Terminator 2 - 1994: John Connor is 10 years old. Arnie is sent back from the year 2029, he even verifies this by saying that he was sent back in time by the future John Connor, leader of the resistance, 25 years from now. John Connor goes on to describe how he will be 45 years old when he sends his own father back through time in the future. Judgement Day is supposedly happens August 1997.
Terminator 3 - Ten years have passed since the prevention of Judgement Day, year is supposedly 2004 or 2005. We find out that Sarah Connors is dead, died from Luekemia in 1997, John Connors describes how she fought to survive for 3 years to make sure the events of Judgement Day don't come to pass. Hence, this means she was diagnosed shortly after the events of T2. John Connors would have been 13 years old when he hits the road. This kids a quick learner, heh, not only his he kopping off with girls at the age of 10 (as we come to learn from his future wife, Katherine Brewster) but he's blowing up **** and living on his own for the best part of 7 or so years.
Does it annoy anyone else?

I said all this when T3 was released...People just said accept it...:(
BTW T2 happens in 1995

Them fools. Flliping hell, 1995, the police computer comes up with data on John Connor, stating various crimes, that happened in 1992, he was only 7. That rebellious child, I hope his mother told him off, oh wait, she was in a mental asylum for trying to blow the **** out of a computer lab.
I love the films, I know it's only a movie and blah, blah, blah but still you would have fought they would have made it slightly more plausible.

If the fans, can pick up this sort of technicality then you would think that producers, directors, studios, script writers would for sure.

Well Arnie saying that it was a different "T-101" is another big mistake.
JediPaul
09-23-2003, 05:58 PM
I don't even know what make he is, he says that he's model T101 protocol or something like that in T2 but many magazines and others say that he's T800.
spiderman_2k

Thor did some research and found out that
The Endoskelton is a T-800 in T2..and a T-850 in T3
The Skin covering the Terminator is The 101 part
Cyberdyne Series T-800 Model 101...T-101's dont even exist..that is a major error in T3

Thanks for clearing that up, I never knew what to call him, its strange but Arnie's character is simply put down as The Terminator in the end credits of the movies. Makes sense but he's not the only terminator in the films.
spiderman_2k
09-23-2003, 06:08 PM
Yeah but he is "The Terminator"..When a "Terminator" is mentioned...You think of him
JediPaul

You would have thought that the machines would have fought of a better method to try and kill John Connor. How does time travel work exactly, I hope that they explain it more in T4.
Crystal Peak facility looks quite similar to the humans hideout in the future visions. How soon after the nuclear bombs have dropped does John Connor get captured.

Not too sure...He forms some of the resistance in the Camps...so it cant be too long...

Theoretically this scenario will never end...it would just be a continuous loop.
T3 didnt have alot of shooting in it as the other Terminator movies, I noticed.
spiderman_2k
09-23-2003, 06:48 PM
Yeah the time loops and paradoxes are very apparent in the Terminator series...
If u include the TX's Plasma Cannon and Flamethrower..thats quite a bit of shooting...The T-1-'s shooting up CRS...More shooting.

Back on topic, I thought the effects were pretty damn good, especially when compared to the crappy CGI we've been seeing in other movies as of late. The only time I could really spot that it was CGI was when Arnie was hanging onto the crane by the hook and getting dragged through buildings but even that was still really well done.

I thought the fx`s were great! I couldn`t spot hardley anything that looked like it was done on computer, the only bit i saw that looked a tad rough was when they were fighting in the bathroom. Apart from that it was cool, and the half a face thing, was very cool. Stan Winston is the man ;)
