Los Angeles Times reports that Elizabeth Avellan speaks on a sequel to the Sci-Fi thriller "The Faculty". Since her time spent with director Time Burton for her participation in Sleepy Hallow, producer Elizabeth Avellan has had a hard time finding work. Now that Dimension Films has sold the rights of "The Faculty" to Columbia Tri-Star Pictures, obligations for a sequel has now come to rise. Although no contract agreements have been made yet, Clea DuVall, Jordana Brewster, and Shawn Hatosy have agreed to return to the cast. No director has been placed on the project. Avellan reports that there are a number of writers working on the script, but none appear to be by "SCREAM" master Kevin Williamson. Rumor has it that Reba Nevwirth, Robert Patrick, and even Usher Raymond have been contacted for cameos.

I don't know if a sequel would work for this movie, but if it was made I would watch it because The Faculty was the first DVD I bought way back in 1998

I thought the Faculty was a pretty decent flick.

The first one had really bad special effects...and the movie overall wasn't that great. I won't be seeing a sequal

I enjoyed the first one when it came out 5 years ago. I'm not concerned with the distence inbetween the two movies since sequels now a days are separated by 12 years or more, so this is no big deal. If a majority of the orignal cast and crew return then this should make for a very interesting sequel.
