How is it fair that Seinbrenner can use all the money in the world to do whatever he wants? He stopped a trade between the Red Sox and Mariners and Reds by offering just flat out more money. Seattle needed Boone, and the Red Sox would have loved Garcia, but no, Steinbrenner was an arse and put in his money and two crappy minor leaguers for Boone, and both his 2 biggest rivals came up empty (though the Sox still got a pitcher). Damn Yankees. I hope they all suffer injuries and MISS, completely MISS the playoffs!

Easy there man. Just because the Yanks got the bucks, don't mean we gotta get angry. In fact, we can blame to Red Sox for not putting in more money or players.

I actually admire Steinbrenner for the fact that he actually shells out money to try and win. If you're a fan of a team like, say Pittsburgh, you're bummin right now. I agree that it's not fair though...the Yanks get more merchandise revenue, thus more money to spend, than any other team in baseball. Anyways, I'll be rooting along with Dogbert for any team but the Yankees to win the WS. I hope a small market team wins it all...

I don't hate the Yankees, or Steinbrenner, but with this last trading fiasco, I'm leaning towards a MLB salary cap. It's just not fair to smaller market teams. A luxury tax doesn't mean a damn thing to the big teams with the wads of cash...

The Yankees and Steinbrenner are doing what many owners in baseball actually dont do...spending money to give the fans a good team. Unlike many owners that pocket revenue sharing and merchandise, Steinbrenner puts the money back on the field. And even though I hate the Yankees more than anything, you have to give them credit for having the largest baseball market in the country and trying to actually win. And this is coming from a Phillies fan too...jeez.

Yeah, and that $80 Million they have over the next team in revenue doesn't give them an unfair advantage at all.

Give me a break.

Kinda sad when you have to celebrate every single victory for your team... Still not convinced the Royals have all the tools to go all the way, though if they don't fall out of first place, I look for them to then die in the playoffs.

I will be very suprised. Tony Pena's done a great job this year, but I still don't think they have a playoff run in them....
