Have you read any of the other books (FOTR, TTT) before the films came out?

I think it's best to read the book before the film if you can, because it's much harder to read them after with the images from the film in your mind, and it's more difficult to assimilate all the extra info in the book after the film than vice versa.

Plus, if you're visiting this board it will be hard to avoid spoilers!

Definitely read the books first. my friend started the first book, saw the movie, went back to the first book, and couldn't get through it. And she's an awesome reader. It's really hard to read afterward because it moves soo slow compared to the movies. It's better if you don't know what to expect when you read it so your interest is held.

Definitely read it, you can get through the whole book within a month if you read a couple of hours a night.

The latest news from TORN looks promising if accurate:

Return Of The King is in its fifth and penultimate week of audio work at Anvil Studios. Peter Jackson is reportedly very pleased with its progress. Apparently Jackson has been on site for presummably the whole period, and he was seen with Viggo Mortensen a week or two ago wandering into Anvil. Work should be completed on the final print of the film by 12th September!

Now, I know that with the Oscars being slightly earlier this year they've moved the press screenings for ROTK to an earlier date than the previous films (1st week in December?), but that doesn't really affect NL's schedule because the final print has to be ready about a month before the release date anyway so they can get al the prints made and distributed.

Still, the middle/end of September seems about 1 1/2 month earlier than I'd expected!

I believe there are only 105 or so days left, not sure about hrs and mins. But unlike the sarcasm with which the others responded to the fact that the seconds ticking away is saddening, I'm going to agree with you. It makes me realize the ending of an era. PJ said that the days Viggo and Elijah have their last shoots will be sadder than his own last day. That's something to think about.
*BTW, Viggo's and Elijah's last days were in July. :crying:

i am in New Zealand, the country which PJ comes from, and where the trilogy was filmed (i presume you knew the last 2). we are 12 hours ahead of Greenwich time, and when our daylight saving kicks in next month, we will be 13 hours ahead. at the moment, so all the times that the people in the USA/UK post, it's the middle of the night here. so, if you are in greece, add 8 hours to ya time, and then you have the time in NZ. eg, at the moment, it is 5:09 here, so if you are 5 hours ahead of greenwich, it will be about 11 am wednesday
