Just a question, What do you think the opening weekend box-office take for Freddy vs Jason will be ? I am curious on this because whenever these movies open they basically get a 10 million opening weekend take and that is not great .Considering Matrix took in 92 million.I think with these 2 in it that the movie may make about 13 million which would be ok for this type of film.Anyway, what do you guys think ?

Low to mid 40 million range. Maybe more.

woah you guys! most REGULAR box office hits don't open that high! i would love FVJ to open w/ that much, but it's simply impossible. Let's say 20 million if the people REALLY dig the idea and the promotion is really good. Otherwise we're looking at a 10mil-12 mil opening. Remember, Jason X and New Nightmare (not to mention the last few before them) bombed. a lot of people aren't taking freddy vs. jason seriously. there are plenty of people that have been waiting for years for this, and there could be kiddie appeal and diverse demographic appeal, but at this early stage in the process it's hard to tell.

Bride of Chucky, Ronny's last genre movie, was a suprise hit, opening w/ 11,830,855 and taking in $32,383,850 (surpassing it's budget domestically alone by over 8mil)...if people can look at FVJ in the same way, or it has the kind of staying power that BOC has, we'll be lucky.

I could see Freddy Vs. Jason having a BO opening of $25-30 million. After that, it'll plunge....fast!

Yeah I hope the movie does well, but just not well enough to kill it with a bunch of lame sequels. Plus I like Robert Englund but I think he needs to move on and get rid of the glove.

I think so too.But he is so associated with Freddy that he will alway be Freddy to fans.I think he accepts that.

Like Crispin Glover will never get over playing George McFly in Back To The Future, IMO he would make a kick a$$ joker :D

He is demented.Isn't he back in Full Throttle , the Charlies angels new flick.Great casting call on the Joker. He was great in Willard.Totally ******d up.

I never saw that movie but I'll definitely rent it just to see his performance. He looked perfect for that role. He was also great as the "creepy thin man" in Charlie's Angel's.

Very Creepy, the guy is weird, big time.Especially in real life.Keeps to himself and rarely interviews.Never been the lead i don't think till Willard.I read he hated to promote the movie but they made him cause he was the star.

If anybody remembers, Crispin Glover had a small role in Friday The 13th Part 4.

He played a horny idiot, we all know what happens to them in a horror film...

As for F Vs J:

8 - 15 Mil - Opening Weekend, but expect huge drops in the following weeks.

This movie was really good, plus it made 13 million yesterday alone, so it will atimatically make more then half of you predicted for opening weekend.

I'd guess around 40 million and topping off around 80 or 90.
