There is a 2 minute trailer there showing some of the new features this game has...It also looks like Shocker and The Black Cat are in this game.

The visuals look really impressive and the quick glimpse of him swinging around the Statue Of Liberty is great.

Ive seen the video of Spidey2 couple of months ago and the guy from Activision explained that they are using GTA kind of engine to make it more believeble while they have scaned Manhattan for you to swing around...

Spidey can run on walls like Dante in DMC, during swinging too, so you can make really cool moves while swinging...

You can go on ground or in air , thats what they attended: bringing us the real Spidey feeling.

He was asked if there are any more Spidey games planed for the future and he said that they arent attached to the movie because they have the comic book rights so there will be many more Spidey games to come...

PS: I have seen him moving and swinging... GREAT!!! and ****ing fast!!!!

Will it be like the first game that if you swing out of the city you just turn round or what? Is Manhattan on an island (I don’t really know NY's geography) and so you won’t be able to swing over the rivers? Is it going to be like The Getaway and be geographically right?

As far as I know, you'll be able to use the whole space of Manhattan. The whole NY would be way too much for a single game.

I am thinking that the graphics look so so, but the gameplay looks awesome. I mean, in the GTAs the graphics downright stunk sometimes, but you get them for the gameplay. This should do well.

Yeah. Bur remember, you cant have that good graphics on such big open levels. For some TOP pc system it could work. But for a normal pc, and x-box and ps2 it wouldnt run....would be way to much for the graphic card to render.

I just played a demo for the game, it's really good! You feel like you have a lot of freedom in the game, just swinging away above the city. It's great, it really truly is.

On the new Deluxe Edition release of Spider-Man on DVD. It's on the second disc. I also got my free ticket to Spider-Man 2 through that DVD. All in all, that was a good purchase on my part.

well...what to say, there realy is alot of freedom. But this is a very rushed game. They have used the Unreal2 engine and (which is optimized for LARGE maps) and they still didnt manage to get better graphs then this. That is very bad.

But aside from that, it is fun to swing around, but nothing more then that actually.

Alpha =later stage of development. Maps not done, but playable. Skins, texures, render engine, etc, not done.

Gold=Game ready to ship

Well, I have played the demo A LOT. I'm talking at least 50 or 60 times, and I know for a fact that the real game is similar, but not terribly close to the game I played. Almost all of Spidey's web and fighting moves are not there, which is an indicator that the demo is close, but not a finished game.

June 03, 2004 - We here at the PC channel had been laboring under a misconception that we would be treated to a ported version of the Spider-Man 2 game due out for the consoles very soon. Turns out that isn't the case. Some might be aware that a demo of the PC version was leaked onto the Internet earlier today so of course we took a look at it and were a bit confused. After a bit of checking, we've learned that Spider-Man 2 for the PC will actually be a stand-alone product skewed towards kids and will not be the same as the ultra-cool looking console versions, which is why I now have a box of tissues at my desk and am weeping like a little girl.

Yes, it sucks, PC gamers will again get jacked out of receiving the adult version of a game for a smaller, easier, and more kid friendly version. Damn. After contacting Activision, they informed me they were in the midst of getting the demo pulled down off of the various downloads sites obviously to avoid some confusion as they haven't really talked about this version of the game yet.

From what we saw of the demo, combat was fairly simple, but the web-slinger still had the ability to swing around the city, climb walls, use his spidey-sense and so on. The look of the game was also a bit brighter and cartoony than what we've seen of the console versions. The stories will be similar as will some of the villains, and yes, the PC version will be rated E whereas the console version will be rated T.

If you're an adult and were looking forward to the game as we were, you had better hope that you have a console for the experience. If you're a kid, then you'll be seeing the game on June 28th.

Yes the user review on the PS2 is much better than that 6.something one.

Spider-Man 2 is much better than the first, The GTA-feel is actully good for this game and it makes for some memorable moments.You virtually web-sling on any part of the city building,heli copters oyu can even string up enemys!!!

The fighting is much more fun too.There tons of neat combos and finishing moves,it will make anyone happy. The first SM on PS1 was the best superhero game ever.And it still is but SM2 is the best next-gen console superhero game ever!!Good job Activision....bring on SM3....and True Crime 2:Streets of N.Y. while your at it.

I got the game practically for free around noon-ish for trading in three other PS2 games I didn't want. I've played it a good four hours... and wow. I feel like I've been playing for only half-an-hour. :o The web-slinging is so kickass on normal, since you get to do what you want instead of it being automatic. Heee, I jumped off the highest point in the game a couple times... that was so cool. :cool: I love doing the car-jackings. I swing and freakin' jump right onto the car. It's so awesome. :o Some of the civilian missions get repetitive though. I'm on Chapter 9 and Mysterio's things at Lady Liberty are a major pain in the ass, but I'll probably beat that next time I play.

Great game, worth every penny. :applaud:

I played for an hour in the morning. :o But even after the story mode is beaten, you only have like 49.8% actually completed. Getting the awards and unlocking all the other stuff should take up a very good amount of time. Besides, the free-roam web-slinging is pretty fun.

I rented this and Driv3r, I feel sorry for whoever brought Spidey 2... Took me just under seven hours to complete the story mode ( my overnight rental time wasn't even up yet ). Replay value consists of finding two different types of tokens... Taking part in races... And trying to get 50,000 Hero Points. Pretty boring really... Web-Slinging was fun for about an hour, but it gets old quickly. I'd give it a 7/10.

On a side note, did anyone else notice The Vultures green feathers on one of the Eagle statues perched on that building ( I don't know it's name, Peter is sitting on one of them in the first Spiderman film after Ben's death ).

But what about just web-slinging? Personally I find that very fun, hasn't gotten old to me yet. Why don't you do some Daily Bugle missions, and some Mary Jane missions as well? Some o' em are quite hard... also, I enjoy doing the random crimes. Especially the car-jackings and stuff that involves cars. Swinging at top speed and then jumping right onto the car is so damn awesome. :o I don't really bother looking for the tokens or doing the challenges, but I am looking for the questions marks. Bruce says some funny stuff in 'em... :cool:

Do you capture Gordon Beck near the start before he becomes Mysterio?

Gordon Beck is a special effects man from Hollywood who think's Spiderman is a fraud and puts him through a few tasks... Spiderman over-comes them which causes Gordon Beck to become Mysterio.

You can see a few of the Vulture's feathers lieing ontop of one of the eagle statues on the building with the eagle statues that Peter was sitting on after Ben's death in the first Spiderman, but The Vulture does not actually appear in the game.

When fighting the Rhino do it in Slow-mo. You'll have no trouble, just hit the circle button when you see that your spide senses are going off. When he becomes dizzy be the crap out of him.

After having read this board and another on a different website I decided to go and buy this game.

I can't enough of webslinging around NYC. Getting to the top of the Empire State Building, jumping off, and at the last second throwing out a web so that I can whip through the streets as quick as possible.

If I had to change anything - allow Spidey to beat up on citizens as well as bad guys.

Oh, and KILL that whiney little b@tch who keeps losing her damned balloon. That little girl should be very happy I can't beat the hell out of citizens when going through the city.

Well i got it at another store and I got the game with the game guide for only 55.99 plus tax. It's an alsome game. IMO it's the best superhero game ever. It captures all the moves and spirit of being spidy

This game is great. I love all the Mary jane missions, the photo missions and especially the pizza missions. It's fine trying to deliver a pizza without destorying it

Well I beat the story mode of the game(still have to beat chapter 16). It was pretty fun. I played this game alot so I finnished quicker than i thought. I'm still gonna play it again and I plan on beating all the other side missions and all the challenges. you gotta remeber it's more than just beating the story so I think it's definetly worth buying. the one thing I must say about this game that don't like is the annoyingness of all of the doc ock battles in this game. It was really frustrating fight him,especially the last fight. It took me 50 minutes to beat the last fight. But overall I still consider this the best superhero game ever!

I finally got it yesterday (That's why I wasn't on last night) and I'm on the final battle with Doc Ock but I just can't get all nine of those switches before dieing. I got 8, couldn't find the last 1, found it and Doc Ock hit me over the back of the head and I died.

Tell me MJ doesn't find out Spidey is Parker in the movie...

Yeah I've tried a good number of times and it's the only one I keep dyeing in.

I just love swinging around, running up buildings and Web Zipping. I'm quite good unless I come to central park, it's too low.

I liked the game, but really once you beat the storyline, your kinda like.........uh.........

I like the idea they had in the game. I just hope they expand on it come the next game and have a bit more in depth storyline and less coins to worry about.

Yeah I have about 5 of the skyscraper and 5 of the hideout expiration tokens to find but I just can't get them. I found out you can see the skyscraper tokens when you look at the map if you look for a small gold dot on top of the skyscrapers.

I'm as fast as I can be and I still can't meat MJ at the park :mad: I can see the alleyway I've to get to but by the time I land time's up. And that bloody Robbie wanting pics of a bloody building site next to the river :mad: I made it to the toilet heading to JJ's and time ran out. :mad: I only need seconds for both!

Are you using the spidey slow mo (whatever it's called) when you get close and the seconds are winding down?

Yeah, it helps alot. If your having a hard time getting between buildings to get around, it makes things a lot easier. Because time and the pace is slower, but your Spider-Man is still going fast.

Just try it out, it'll make the difference between missing a mission by a few seconds, to beating it with ease.

Ock fight is easy, just watch out till his tentacles turn red and dodge/web them. Thats it. He didnt hit me once.

But the rest of the game is awesome!!! I love jumping of high buildings head first and speading up... Or simply making all kind of crazy moves while swinging around... great!!
