Well the Battle of the directors best movies was fun but now it's over. time for the next generation of matches. we will do 14 matches for each decade. we'll start with the 90's and go back in time.

for the first match I have a hard one.

It`s funny how most people love the film for that ending...I think the film is excellent, but the very ending, the way in which the last two sins are punished, ruined the whole film for me...I felt John Doe would NEVER do it like that...it didn`t fit his psychology, ideology, philosophy and M.O.

Because you're voting on something you know nothing about. It was lucky that Se7en won the last fight, because if Fight Club won 17-16, you would have 16 people down your throat for skewing the results of both that round and the entire battle.

Dracula's above comment about voting for Battlefield Earth is precisely correct. Two years ago, I did a battle for the best comedy ever (on a different board), and Scary Movie beat out Some Like it Hot by one vote, because of someone just like you, who voted SM simply 'cause they hadn't seen SLIH.

The Bottom Line: If you haven't seen one of the movies in question, don't vote in that round. You're screwing things up just as much as if you voted having seen neither movie in question.

It did indeed. That's why I always hate when ppl vote recklessly. But thankfully, Dr. Evil's got the hang of it. Thanks, Doctor.

And unfortunately, i'm in the same boat as Mr. Kane here, having only seen Resevoir Dogs (or Reserved Dogs, in Clone High). Oh, well.

By the way, Dracula, how short are the rounds this time? They seem to be going a lot faster than the directors thread. Between when I signed on yesterday and when I signed on today, I missed the Forrest Gump battle, which I would've loved to support.

Ah. Well, i understand that it's completely up to your discretion, but my suggestion would be to wait at least twenty-four hours. I only really come on hear once a day, and I'm sure others come on even less. It's your decision, of course.

Yeah. It seems like this thing just became the Battle of the Decade's Most Popular Movie, instead of the Decade's Best Movies. I mean, ID4 getting on this list over Princess Mononoke, American Beauty, Jerry Maguire etc.? C'mon!
