I saw it, it was alright, but I think it's highly overrated, but still worth watching.

it was a pretty good action movie, but its no masterpiece. for what it is, and what I assume was a relatively low-budgett, yeah its pretty good. But its just an action movie

Considering its direct to video and got almost no press, it's pretty damn good.

Badass movie. I loved it. The movie I compare it to, "Equilibrium", is better in my eyes. There is a nice shootout at the end though. It's only $8 on DVD and it is a great package.

It reminds me of a Tarentino movie the way they go to the crime scene 1st and then show it happening.

From the back of the DVD.
When the sadistic Russian mob starts muscling in on South Boston Irish neiborhood, Connor and Murphey McManus know what must be done. Felling that the vengeance of god is flowing through their veins, they set out to rid the streets of gangsters, criminals and lowlifes. As the body count rises, the brothers become local heroes. Now one unorthodox (Gay) F.B.I agent must be cunning enough to bring them down
Starring:
Willam Dafoe
Sean Patrick Flannery
Norman Reedus
David Della Rocco (THE FUNNYMAN)
and Ron Jermy
In a nutshell its about 2 irish catholic guys who go on a mission from god to kill all the evil people in the world.

Has a mighty fine amount of cussing in it.
I never noticed it until a friend mentioned to me to turn it down cause his girlfriend was in another room and she might get mad.
I was like "Why?"
Lol. It turns out they cuss and say F every other word and sentance in the movie.
It's a great action flick, its got it's funny parts. The flashback telling of the detective is very clever.
I saw this before it even had a lot of hype, back when it first came out on video. I was suprised on how good it was.
Then one day it came out on DVD, and people started coming up to me and were like "Dude have you seen this movie!? Im pretty sure you havn't yet, it kicks a**!!".
And I just said "um... yeah. Like ages ago." :D

Hey.
Anyone who loves action movies, and action movies with a purpose and interesting plot, you have to check out The Boondock Saints. When my friend told me he had this cool movie where these Catholic dudes go around killing and cursing in the name of God, I didn't know what to think. But The Boondock Saints had some awesome gun fights, Willem Defoe is still a great actor, despite his charater's "flaw" but that just makes him a better actor anyway. What struck me about the movie more than anything was how often they cursed, but how appropriate and entertaining it was. I blame this partly on how Hollywood has completely knumbed my sense of right and wrong, but as a guy who only watches movies expecting the best from them, The Boondock Saints is one of the best cult films. Too much off the wall stuff to be a good main-stream film, but even the message in the movie had me really thinking, while at the same time being entertained by the acting and action. Great all around film, definitely go out and see it, just don't watch it with stupid people with no grasp of plot, because those people will be sadly confused.
That is all for now.

Dude, this movie rocks (that's part of thier prayer in my sig) and they swear cos thier Irish, I've met some Irishmen and believe me, they curse like sailors (except when God is involved)
Pretty good flick... not as good as Reservoir Dogs, though, but it's pretty good in it's own right.

i think it is better than resevoir dogs, but that is just my oppinion, although you do get the same kinda vibe. thought it was great, the toilet scene and the part where willem defoe is like "what a fag!" were my two favorite parts! also dont get in an uproar i am very much for gay rights.

Great flick i just saw it today and I loved it, probally because I had no idea what to expect. I give it a 9.5/10. I still like reservoir dogs better(it's my favorite movie) but I still put this in my top 20. I don't know why the critics bashed this movie. And the action scenes were pretty good for what they were.

Even if your not too fond of the film, surely you can agree that it is better than some other movies that come to theater.

Plot summary from IMDB
The story starts with a bit more in depth on the court house scene which ended the last film. As soon as they blow Yakavetta away, it is revealed that the MacManus father and sons have been hiding out deep in the glens and valleys of Ireland for three years. Connor and Murphy are quite content with this "natural" life and their pasts begin to seem faded and worn. But soon they recieve a "sign" and are called back into action as a pastor is murdered in a Boston church and the crime scene is staged to make it look like the work of the Saints.
It definitely has potential but it may never happen. Also Willem Dafoe isnt in it :(

I waish he had but he didnt. Im still really pissed about this. I try to as up to date as I can but I havent heard anything about Dafoe rejoining the cast. Please tell me if I'm wrong because I would love Dafoe to come back. And the plot summary is old but I assume it hasnt changed much
