Plot Summary:
Just in time for Christmas comes this epitome of holiday counter-programming: Chris Sullivan's animated dystopia is light-years away from the candy-coated universe of cartoon-for-kids. The film's plot is set in motion by a car accident that kills a nun.
Earl Gray: 67 years old, a tall and formidable former radio and newspaper personality, known for his gardening advice column. He lives with Pufferballs, world's oldest cat. Gentian Violet: at 42, an anonymous newspaper paste-up employee; she lives with her Alzheimer's-stricken mother and dates Victor Blue. Victor Blue: a 38-year-old newspaper employee, who with Gentian, has an amateur Irish musical duo, The Shalelies; he lives his life as "a terminal social service project."
