Plot Summary: Nicknamed "The Bloody Benders," John and Kate Bender owned an inn at the end of the 19th century in Labette County, Kansas with their son and daughter, also named John and Kate. For several years, the Benders were believed responsible for a series of grisly murders, killing those who stayed at their inn with a complex system that involved a trap door, a blow to the head with a hammer and the disposal of the bodies on the frontier property.
