Plot Summary:
Inspired by Chekhov's "The Seagull," this is a dreamlike examination of art, commerce, power, desire, fame and despair.
Beautiful young actress Claire (Kate Lyn Shiel of "Autoerotic" and "The Color Wheel") is in a comfortable relationship with Ethan (Swanberg), a filmmaker who aspires to make meaningful films. She is his muse, and they are finishing a project together. After she accepts the lead role in a werewolf movie to be directed by a talented horror auteur named Ben (Ti West, director of "The House of the Devil"), Ethan is instantly weary of their relationship and suspects Claire is more interested in stardom than the pursuit of art.
As Claire connects with her new director, Ethan begins to spiral into depression and self-doubt. In retaliation against Claire, he casts her best friend Charlie (Amy Seimetz of "Tiny Furniture" and "A Horrible Way to Die") as his girlfriend in his new project. While both productions move forward, Claire's life becomes more surreal and starts to resemble the werewolf movie she is working on.
