Plot Summary: "The Day of the Triffids" is planned as a 3D feature. Based on a 1951 novel by John Wyndham, the film tells the story of genetically engineered hyper-intelligent plants that, after most of humanity is blinded by a meteor shower, begin to attack and devour the world's population. The story was previously adapted (albeit loosely) into a British film version in 1961 and also spawned two television serials in 1981 and 2009.
