Plot Summary: Remake Carol Reed's 1948 classic "The Fallen Idol." The new version will move the story from London to present day India.

The original film, based on a story by Graham Greene (who one year later again worked with Reed on The Third Man) takes place in a French embassy and deals with a young diplomat's son whose hero worship of the embassy's butler, Baines, leads to complications when Baines is suspected of murder.
